Asustor AS5104T Overview

The AS5104T 4-Bay NAS Enclosure from Asustor is capable of sharing the data on your drives with computers on the network. It comes with four bays that can each support a 2.5" or 3.5" SATA-based drive. The bays feature hot-swappable capabilities so you can quickly replace your hard drives and SSDs. Asustor has equipped this enclosure with a quad-core Intel Celeron processor along with 2GB of DDR3L memory to manage your data and run the ADM 2.5 operating system. With these features, you can RAID your drives, set up remote backups, create cloud services, and more.

The AS5104T is outfitted with two Gigabit Ethernet jacks and link aggregation to provide faster transfer speeds than a single LAN setup and maintain its connection if one of the LANs fails. It is built with an aluminum chassis and armed with a 120mm fan to cool your drives. Aside from cooling, it offers three USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, and two eSATA ports for storage expansion. Additionally, one HDMI and one S/PDIF port are available so you can use the AS5104T as an addition to your home theater entertainment center.

Performance
This NAS comes built with an Intel Celeron 2 GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of DDR3L memory to run the Asustor Data Master (ADM) operating system. The CPU can offer speeds of up to 2.41 GHz, providing a smooth and seamless experience. Asustor has equipped the AS5104T with two SODIMM slots that can support up to 8GB of memory.
Cooling
The built-in 120mm fan delivers active cooling for the AS5104T and your drives. In addition, the chassis is made out of aluminum to offer passive cooling and has a coating to help prevent rust and corrosion.
Secure Disk Tray Lock Design
ASUSTOR has added a locking mechanism to the drive trays to help prevent accidental release of your hard drives. The lock's flat-head design ensures you will not need a special key or tool to unlock it, only a simple flat-head screw driver.
Expandable Storage Space
You can expand the storage capacity for your network by connecting optional drives to its two USB 2.0, three USB 3.0, and two eSATA ports.
Network Connection
The built-in dual Ethernet ports combined with the link aggregation function allow your NAS to maintain its connection even if one of your Ethernet connections fails. Additionally, link aggregation provides faster transfer speeds than a single connection could, along with load balancing which automatically balances network traffic load across the two connections, making it a suitable choice for users who require high-speed reliability.
Home Multimedia Center
The AS5104T comes with an HDMI port as well as a S/PDIF jack to connect with your home entertainment center. It supports Full HD 1080p videos, allowing you to enjoy high-definition movies and shows. What's more, through ASUSTOR's App Central, you can install additional multimedia server Apps such as UPnP Media Server and iTunes Server giving your NAS the ability to stream multimedia content to your computers, TVs, and mobile devices.
