Designed to provide a portable yet steady platform for refractor optical tube assemblies (OTAs) with apertures up to 4", Tele Vue's Gibraltar HD4 Alt-Az Mount features a Tele-Pod head and a custom-designed Berlebach ash wood tripod that has large bearing surfaces and thick legs that can handle heavier loads with greatly reduced vibration, especially when viewing at high power. The legs raise the altitude axis from 3.5 to 5 feet and markings on the legs allow for repeatable setting to preferred heights. A wood accessory tray ties the legs together for rigidity, and a built-in pier not only adds extra height to provide a more comfortable viewing position for the user, it allows the OTA to be aimed at or near the zenith without hitting the tripod. A bubble level is integrated into the tripod base and metal ground spikes with rubber tips are provided to give it added stability on soft ground.

Misleading Product Description and Poor Customer Support
I purchased this item and trusted B&H for an international shipment but unfortunately, my experience was marred by a discrepancy in the product description and inadequate customer support. The mount description explicitly mentioned that it includes the Tele Vue Tele-Pod head with its accessory handle. To confirm, I reached out to a customer specialist who assured me that the handle was indeed included. However, when I received the item from B&H, the handle was missing. I contacted B&H support, expecting them to rectify the issue promptly. Unfortunately, they shifted the responsibility to the manufacturer, stating that they had no control over the items shipped. This lack of accountability is disappointing, especially considering I trusted their service for an international shipment. As a result, I'm left to resolve the issue on my own, which is frustrating and unacceptable. Be aware of this when purchasing this product, I will not buy items from TeleVue in this store again.
