The black AKG LC81 MD Lightweight Cardioid Lav Microphone is one of the smallest cardioid lavaliers available. With a diameter of less than two tenths of an inch and a length of less than four tenths of an inch, it weighs in at 0.07 ounces so your talent will hardly know it is there. Its cardioid polar pattern picks up a wide range of frequencies-from bass to soprano-and provides flexibility in getting the best sound from the source. Placed close to the performer, it accurately picks up low-end frequencies; place it farther away for performances in a higher range.

Would this be a good lapel mic for sit down ...
Would this be a good lapel mic for sit down interview or is it designed primarily for stage use on actors?
The AKG LC81 MD Reference Lightweight Cardioid Lavalier Microphone could be used for an interview scenario as well as stage use. Its cardioid pickup pattern makes it more directional to help focus on the voice and eliminate external noise, as well as possibly reducing the possibility of feedback when it is amplified.

What connection Jack does this mic use?
The AKG LC81 MD has a MicroDot connector. There are adapters available from AKG and other manufacturers to convert the MicroDot connector to a different type of connector and enable compatibility with a variety of wireless transmitters or to connect the mic to a standard XLR input. For example, the AKG MDA3 SEN2 MicroLite Microphone Adapter Connector for Sennheiser Bodypack Transmitter with 3.5mm Phone Jack (B&H # AKMDA3) or Deity Microphones DA35 Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Adapter - Black (B&H # DEDA35) will both convert the MicroDot connector to a 3.5mm TRS locking connector for use with Sennheiser transmitters. You can find the AKG MicroDot adapters listed on the item page for the mic -- click on the tab for "Accessories" above the product description, then click on the tab for "Adapters." You can also use the website search bar to find the adapters or contact us by phone or through live chat on the website if you would like further assistance.
