Tenba Canvas 8 overview

  • 1Description

Functional yet attractive, the gray Cooper Luxury Canvas 8 Camera Bag with Black Leather Accents from Tenba is designed to store and protect your compact camera, iPad mini and related accessories. The back of the bag features a zippered pocket for a tablet. A versatile bag, the insert is removable for converting the bag from photo usage to a carryall. For organizing gear, there are touch-fastening, padded dividers and two, slip-in pockets on the inserts exterior. Photographers will appreciate the large front flap, which closes with quieter-than-normal, touch-fastening fabric. Bound to be popular, the front flap has a top zipper for access to gear without having to open the flap, and an exterior, zippered, accessory pocket for your cellphone. For added security, there's a secondary zipper under the top of the flap. Lifting the flap reveals exterior pockets for storing a variety of useful items such as cables, filters, and more.

Carry the Cooper with the padded shoulder strap or removable hand strap. The beauty of this bag is in the numerous details that include hand-riveted, leather zipper pulls, peach-waxed cotton canvas, full-grain leather accents and trim, and a silicone-coated, water-resistant, ripstop, nylon interior. For added equipment protection as well as helping to prevent scratching furniture, the bottom of the bag is trimmed in leather. The Cooper comes with a reversible silver/black rain cover. The black side is good for stealth, and the silver side helps keep the bag cooler by reflecting sunlight.

    Tenba Canvas 8 reviews

Cooper Luxury Canvas 8 Camera Bag with Leather Accents (Gray) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perhaps the perfect bag? My weakness is not purchasing cameras I don't need or looking for the next great lens but rather is it camera bags. I'm always looking for just the right bag (for me that is). I want a smallish bag to carry a mirrorless camera (a Sony a7sII in my case). I like my bags to be slim against my side (not a bowling ball bag rolling from side to side on me), discreet (the bag doesn't call out for attention), and functional (with lots of pockets for keys, phone, passport, notebook, etc.) and still have ample room for my camera and accessories. I think I may have found the one . . . The Cooper 8 bag is very well made from the stitching to the materials (the durable leather bottom is well done) and Tenba puts a lot of effort into providing the necessary pouches and compartments for holding everything you need to carry day to day. The ability to open the bag from the top without having to open the entire front flap is great and allows me access to anything inside the main compartment. The almost soundless Velcro is also ingenious (so much better than other silencer systems). The included insert for the main compartment to store the camera, lens, etc. is well made and fits well. There is also an outside pocket for carrying an iPad Mini but I find it works better for storing my notebook, business cards, etc. I use the bag to carry my Sony a7sII with a 55mm and 28mm lens (along with the charger, spare batteries, etc). Truth be told, the bag is a bit of a snug fit for a camera of this size however, I prefer a snug fit than a loose one where my camera can bounce around in the bag. Moving up to a larger bag would not work for me. In actual use, the bag works great. My camera is secure and easily comes out when needed. Everything is at my fingertips when I need it and the bag simply looks good (but doesn't necessarily look like a camera bag). If your camera will fit this bag and you are like me and prefer a minimalist approach when carrying your camera, the Cooper 8 is a great bag. I can't see needing another bag for a long time to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Small bag! I ordered the Tenba Cooper 8 for an upcoming trip and don't like traveling with a large camera bag. When I got the bag I thought I had made a mistake - it's soooo small. I managed to get my Olympus EM1 with a 14 - 150mm 4 -5.6 mounted, Leica-Pany 25mm, and the Olympus 12-40mm into the bag - it was a little tight! I've only used this setup for a couple of weeks but have noticed with use that it gets easier to access the camera and I'm liking the bag a lot. I took the handle strap in the bag off for easier access.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Close to perfect Finding the perfect camera bag is hard. I spent weeks reading reviews and looking for advice. The Cooper 8 stood out early as the one I wanted, but I was concerned about whether my camera would fit. At last I finally gave it a chance (I have to add I bought it from Europe with the additional cost that entails - which is why I was hesitant). I'm happy to say this bag is amazing. It has a lot of small pockets, it looks fantastic, and the best part is the zipper and velcro system that makes me feel safe while being really practical. The only problem, and I knew this going in, is that it's on the small side. I have a Sony a7s II, and I can pretty easily fit it with my Batis 25mm mounted and the 55mm in the next compartment. There is no room for a third lens, but I've come to accept this as a good thing - I often plan my shoots, and two lenses should be more than enough to cover me while I walk around. The rain cover is also not perfect, and I would prefer it if it didn't come in a separate little bag inside the bag - it just takes up unnecessary space. It should be integrated into the bottom of the bag. If it weren't for the space set aside for the rain cover inside the bag, the camera insert could easily fill out more of the bag to make room for an additional lens (it's a camera bag first and foremost). These are minor details compared to what you get though, the bag is by far the most practical I've come across for those who want something light for a mirrorless and 2 lenses (maybe 3 small ones). I bought it for travel purposes and it will be perfect for this. The fact that I can choose whether to open with the silent velcro system OR the two zippers on top (you can leave one of them open easily) is what really brings it home for me. No other bag I've found has this extremely practical feature.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from For fashionistas, not shooters I ordered the Cooper 13 Slim as well as the Cooper 8 and returned both. They are indisputably great-looking well-constructed bags. Style does matter to me (hence I was willing to pay the high price) but not at the expense of functionality. They are stiff, narrow, and quite difficult to work out of. The 13 requires you to stack lenses on top of each other with padding in between (to use full capacity). Seriously? Who can change lenses like that in the real world? The 8 is the same size as the ThinkTank Retrospective 5 but seems to hold about half as much gear. If you just want to haul your expensive gear from place to place and look sexy doing it, the Cooper is an option for you. However if you actually want to use the bag while shooting, I would avoid these bags. I ended up returning both and buying a ThinkTank Retrospective 6. Now that's a shooters bag! If you're looking for something about the size of the Cooper 8 I highly recommend the Retrospective 5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A high quality camera bag for daily use I needed a bag that doesn't scream out that its a camera bag and is big enough for a mirrorless camera with a single lens, a wallet and a mobile phone charger and some accessories. From all of the camera bags that I found at BH - This was the best fit. Actual, this is the only bag in this category with an internal zipper!!! Negative critics: The material used for the outer shell doesn't feel nice to the touch The provided rain cover is a hint that it will not withstand heavy rain and it also takes some space away. It should be a bit thinner because it looks too boxy even if its nearly empty There is no way to connect the interior of the bag to its outer shell There no justification for the interior part to be smaller then the outer shell (very annoying) Positive critics Beautify gray color High quality finish and design Great scotch bag sealer for nearly quite opening of the bag Enough space for all of my needs Internal zipper that makes thief much harder and prevents things from falling out accidentally

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Camera Bag Bag is easy to reconfigure during shoot. I used it with a FUJI Xpro2 + L bracket and 3 lenss, one mounted and two stacked. There is room for batteries, extra caps and small accessories well secured. The bag is very well made and much less conspicuous than most brands.
