Useful remote shutter release

It's a very useful remote shutter release. No battery consumes. I had the SL APP installed on my cell phone that I can use cell phone APP most of times. And this cable is a back up which it doesn't drain battery.

This cable release does not permit time lapse photography.

Only good for single exposures. For example, can not use to automatically shoot star trails.

Well-made and simple to use

Yes, the Leica RC-SCL4 Remote Release Cable for Leica SL (Typ 601) Digital Camera will work taking bracketed photos. It is important to set up the bracketing to be triggered by a simple pressing of the camera's "shutter button".

question

For Leica CL which is the corresponding Remote Release cable?
Asked by: SANDRO T.
The Leica CL does not have a socket to support a wired remote release. For remote shutter actuation, you use the Leica CL smartphone app. Since I use the camera on a copy stand a good bit of the time, I've also purchased a Kaiser mechanical shutter release cable adapter (for point and shoot cameras). This lets me use a short shutter release cable to actuate the shutter instead of the WiFi app, preserving battery life. It's a Velcro secured band that wraps around the camera with a shutter release cable mount that presses the shutter button.

question

The Leica RC-LCL4 is only compatible with the Leica SL, as the SL camera has a proprietary connection. No other camera has this type of connection. The connector does not even have IEEC number as it only available from Leica?
Asked by: Anonymous
Leica is on leading edge with this connector. I'm sure we'll see the industry evolve over time.
