Kirk LS-2 Reviews

Works great, easy to use

I use it on my simplified video camera rig. In most cases I tend to use the lens support compatible with 15mm LWS rod systems, but sometimes I need a solution that is lightweight, fast and easy to mount and allows to put the whole camera rig on the ground flatwise. I installed The Kirk lens support on a Manfrotto-style quick release plate with arca-style rails on top. The Kirk LS-2 can support the FE70200GM and Tamron 35150 on the FS5 very well. The only complaint is that the adjustability range is very small, but this is not a design flaw, it's just me using it in a place it was not originally designed for.

Great supplement to Kirk lens collar

This ingenious device makes a great addition to the Kirk lens collar, and is easy to adjust to contact at the end of the lens's zoom ring. Small rollers allow easy turning of the zoom ring with this in place, and you can even add a little drag if you think your zoom turns too easily. Adds noticeable support for the length of the 200-500 zoom in landscape or portrait mode if you're just turning the camera within the lens collar. Gimbal users YMMV.

Will this work with Kirk KLP-450 arca swiss lens plate(which I already own)?

From the looks of it you could attach this to the front of the plate, but you need to make sure that with whatever head you are using, it won't interfere since the universal plate only has one groove to attach this to.

What is the physical difference between the LS-1 ...

What is the physical difference between the LS-1 and LS-2? The front adjustable part looks the same. Does the difference come down to the length of the horizontal part that clamps to the lens plate?
Asked by: mark
Each of the items has a list of compatible lenses. The size varies based on where they touch/attach to the lens.
