Designed specifically for TSN-880 and TSN-770 series spotters, Kowa's TSN-EX16 1.6x Eyepiece Extender fits between the scope body and eyepiece to increase the magnification by a factor of 1.6x with virtually zero light loss. It installs quickly and easily without tools or permanent modification by simply unscrewing the scope ring from the body and threading the extender in its place. The bayonet mount accepts the eyepiece and a simple quick-release button allows the eyepiece to be quickly removed. A ring on the extender screws off for using digiscoping adapters. Made to match the color and form of the eyepiece, this extender blends seamlessly with the scope's aesthetics. Its compact form factor allows it to be used on straight and angled-viewing models and left installed when not in use.

Surprising retention of sharpness!
I use a KOWA 99A spotting scope with the TE-80XW Extreme Angle Eyepiece and an iPhone 15 Pro for digiscoping wildlife. The wide angle eyepiece gives me a full field with no vignetting at all when using the 24mm camera in the phone, which is the highest resolution of the 3 cameras. The only downside was it's a fixed 40X as opposed to the 30-70X zoom eyepiece which does vignette. So I ordered the TSN-EX16 1.6 Extender to give me a 65X magnification. I was dubious about light loss and sharpness degradation, but very pleasantly surprised by the image clarity, sharpness, contrast and low light loss! It's a bit of a pain to remove the rubber collar on the scope and thread the adaptor in place. But the results are worth it.
