BLADE BLH8780 overview

  • 1Description

The Inductrix BNF Quadcopter from Blade is a "beginner"-level EDF drone that's suitable for those starting out with drone aviation. Engineered with SAFE Technology, this quadcopter enables consistently smooth flights even in windy conditions. It features multiple flight modes, each designed to address a variety of pilot needs and skill levels.

The Inductrix is a "bind-n-fly" model, which means that a 4+ channel Spektrum DSMX transmitter (radio controller) is required to start flying. Its 150mAh flight battery is estimated to last up to eight minutes. A USB battery charger and a additional canopy are included.

LED Lighting
LED lights give you a visual orientation reference. The clear rotor housings add an easily recognizable glow to the airframe.
Durable Construction
The Inductrix's cylindrical rotor housings provides a durable structure that allows you to bump the Inductrix into practically anything with little risk.
Quiet Ducted Fans
The Inductrix's four electric ducted fans (EDFs) are designed to produce less noise compared to quads that use propellers for thrust.

Inductrix BNF Quadcopter with SAFE Technology is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quad to train at home with If you're getting started with flying UAV's, this is the best little quad to learn on. The hovering capabilities are amazing! Very easy to fly and their SAFE Technology feels extremely steady. I would purchase more batteries so you can fly longer periods of time. I use this little guy every day to practice my skills when I fly my Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K. This is best used indoors. You can fly it outdoors just make sure its not windy. It can easily fly away because of its small size and light weight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly fun to fly indoors and outdoors While this may look a bit on the cheaper side, it is surprisingly fun to fly Quad due to its normal and acro flight modes. BNF allows me to use my existing DX6i transmitter and not to add another to my pile of unused ones. Programming flight mode switch (via Flap/Gyro) takes a bit of figuring out, but there are YouTube videos that helped me to do so. Ducted fans make it easy to fly indoors around those who are not used to quads not only blades are protected, but also they make it fly with less buzzing noise. Also it can keep flying when flew against walls. Ducted fans do make it require some extra push upwards time to time and spare batteries are must. Also it's not exactly crash prone in terms of durability. Connection between motor mount and duct can snap, but replacement frames are available.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Entry Level This is a great little quad copter for someone starting out. It's pretty easy to control, mainly because of the SAFE stability software, but also because you can use BNF to bind the aircraft with a real professional grade remote. Unfortunately, we have already broken it after a few flights. There are three plastic support pieces to suspend the motors and blades in the plastic ducts. Crash into a few things a little too hard, and they break. I noticed they were broken when it suddenly became harder to control, then I found the motor flopping around in it's place. A few globs of clear silicone from the auto parts store has it back in flying order, but this critical part should have been engineered a little bit larger at the expense of slightly increased weight and slightly decreased fan efficiency.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 1 motor toast after 7 minutes of flying Flew well for a bit. Now I need a new motor. I am upgrading the motors anyway, so its not a big deal for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun indoor quad Inductrix is good for a beginner because it is very stable even in the agile mode, more stable than Blade Nano QX. It's quiet and fun to fly indoor in a small space because of the tiny size. A 150mAh battery has a flight time around 4 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indoor and outdoor fun! I've upgraded my unit to carry the typical FPV configuration that is used in the well known 'Tiny Whoop' build. The level of entertainment is really astounding from this little guy. Incredibly capable in its base configuration, though if you're looking to jump on the FPV train I would advise to upgrade the motors to something that is 14000Kv or more. To help with extending the life of the motors (upgraded or not), be sure to allow for time to cool between flights. In addition, breaking the motors will also better prepare them for the abuse they'll likely see due to many full throttle sessions and punch outs. Simply hover the unit for the first 2-3 battery packs with moderate throttle inputs. You will see better performance from your quadcopter as a result. Lastly, as stated in another review the struts are the weak point on these frames. The easiest fix in the field or on the bench is to use a UV cure pen which can be found at many stores. To help adhere to the ducts, I've tried mildly scuffing near the strut connecting point with decent results that hold up well to flight. I love this thing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing fun little Quad Copter Amazing fun little Quad Copter. Great for learning before jumping into something bigger. Be prepared to buy extra batteries and frames (depending on how good of a flyer you are).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Oops I can't use it since I don't have a transmitter. Be sure to order one with a transmitter!
