Yorkville Sound CA1 Overview

The Yorkville CA1 is a Coliseum Series installation amplifier offering six input channels, four output zones, and straightforward controls for versatility and ease of use in restaurants and retail environments as well as houses of worship, offices, and conference rooms. With 180W of output power, it can drive a 4-ohm speaker load or four 70V speaker systems while a dedicated preamp out can feed a subwoofer or an audio recorder.

Its wide range of inputs include a front-panel 1/4" mic input with voice priority, three XLR-1/4" combo mic/line inputs with selectable 24V phantom power for podium/lavalier condenser microphones, two stereo RCA inputs with 4-stage sensitivity selection, and a dedicated 600-ohm telephone input. In addition to having screw terminals to accommodate hookup of constant-impedance or constant-voltage speakers, the CA1 provides a 1W / 8-ohm auxiliary loudspeaker output and a front-panel 1/4" monitor output.

Thanks to individual channel volume knobs, a large master volume control, and 2-band EQ, the CA1 allows efficient mixing without having to enter menus or even leave the front panel. Per-zone and all-zone speaker selection switches enable simple management of all output zones. The CA1's sturdy steel chassis can be mounted in 3 RU of rack space in a standard 19" equipment rack.

Easy to use, produced great sound when paired with JBL pendant speakers. Rack mount is nice if you have a rack. It's a heavy amp, which is generally a good sign. The mic and AUX inputs both sound great. The output level indicator is great for making sure you aren't turned up too high.

question

Does this only allow me to send the same input to multiple zones or can I run two separate inputs through this to different speakers in multiple zones? I cant read what the output section says but I see the outputs all have different power considerations
Asked by: Anonymous
You can send only the same mix to different zones although you can selectively turn on and off zones.

Hello Can i control the volume of each zone or set of speakers separately Can i send different music to different zones Thanks
Asked by: Sylvester
To control the volume of each zone, you need to have a separate volume control unit connected to each zone. You can selectively turn on and off zones from the amplifier but you cannot create different mixes for each zone.
