The black Lume Cube 1500 Lumen Light features a 6000K color temperature, and the unit's output is dimmable from 0 to 1500 Lumens. The light is suitable for use as either a video light or a still photo strobe. It incorporates a rechargeable battery that lasts 20 minutes at full brightness and two hours plus at 50% brightness.

The Lume Cube is controlled either manually or via Bluetooth using optional iOS or Android apps. The Bluetooth connectivity allows you to simultaneously control up to five Lume Cube fixtures at the same time. The 1/4"-20 female threads allow you to mount the Lume Cube onto a variety of optional camera accessories. The fixture is waterproof down to 100', which makes it usable in dry and wet weather or while fully submerged.

The Lume Cube features a built-in optical sensor to slave it to other strobe units. The flash features variable duration from 1/8000 of a second to freeze motion to one second for more exposure.
Optional apps Lume Cube and Lume Cube Pro allow you to control the fixture via Bluetooth. Additionally, you can control up to five Lume Cubes at one time using Bluetooth.
The Lume Cube is waterproof down to 100 feet. This allows you to comfortably use the Lume Club in wet weather as well as dry or when submerged.

    Lume Cube LC-11 reviews

1500 Lumen Light (Black) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality light, useless app. The light gets 5+ stars. Feels quality and very sturdy. The app, however is a joke. After a couple dozen test photos, I've yet to get one that is focused, white balanced, or properly exposed when using the auto flash feature within the Lume Cube app. The light does not stay on long enough for the iPhone camera to focus and adjust for a proper photo. The Nova Bluetooth flash app isn't exciting either, but it works consistently and produces excellent results with the Nova flash (bummer is doesn't work with the Lume Cube too). So basically right now it's just an oddly shaped flashlight with 10 brightness levels. Fix the app and this will be a 5 star item. This is not a travel flash. The odd shape does not fit comfortably in any pants pocket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great constant light and for smartphone flash - Slave issues This is a very well made little device, with amazing light output. The beam is broader that most LED light sources, and at lower settings it can actually run for hours. It's also great to have an off camera flash for a smartphone. Why not five stars? It might slave with cameras that emit flash before the shutter releases, but it would not slave correctly with a Canon speedlite and a 5D. It triggers, but is late by just enough. Support confirmed this. To their credit, they were very quick to respond. It might slave with cameras that emit preflash.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be useful, but beware the hype First off, this is nowhere near 6000K color temp. It's more like 10,000K, maybe 9000 at lower intensity. That's like open shade at high altitude. Plan on at least an 85 filter or 1/2 CTO to mix with daylight sources, and much more in tungsten. The minimal user interface and obscure operating controls are not convenient and the instructions less than helpful. The iPhone app is a bit clunky and loses bluetooth connectivity; must force quit app to find it. Having to pay for pro app is almost an insult. Other reviews have talked about iffy performance as a camera flash. I've not yet evaluated. That said, it's a cute unit and easy to throw in a bag so you always have an easy fill light. I'll be trying to figure how to conveniently add filtration; the cast aluminum case should be able to hold quick attach filters. This is NOT a spot light source; very wide throw. It's a cleverly marketed gizmo but be aware of its limitations. I'll add as I get more experience.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good light, unless you intend to use underwater I got two of these for xmas. Enjoyed using them with the app, even though the bluetooth strength is pretty poor for something so expensive. Used them a few times on land before I took them underwater, quite pleased with the results. First dive with them I took them to 90ft, they are rated down to 100ft, I was unable to press the buttons to be able to turn them on. I then tried to turn them on every 10ft as I ascended, they did not work until I was at 40ft. Also one of the buttons stopped working rendering it useless. Luckily I was able to return them. I was really looking forward to a long relationship with these guys. Sadly I wont be buying them again unless they become more reliable down the line. I heard from Lume Cube that they have had lots of problems with these guys underwater especially after 50ft...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Highly disappointed Bought this to use as a light on my older model compact underwater camera system for my first dive trip in 3 years. Charged it up and checked it all out a couple of weeks before the trip - all seemed fine. Took it down on my first dive and ... nothing. Thought maybe it had been too long since charging so recharges and took it down again the next day. Nothing .... On closer examination and checking I discovered that the left control button was permanently depressed and nothing I tried would get it to pop back up. Dove the rest of the week with no light. Got home to request a refund from the manufacturer, because B&H doesn't refund underwater products once submerged (which I totally understand). Had the product in my hand as I was writing email to manufacturer and I noticed the button was now popped back up and working properly. Very frustrated as I now had no physical evidence to show the manufacturer. Guess it didn't matter because they never responded to my email anyway. As I side note, I have been using underwater equipment for over 20 years and am not a newbie dealing with such. Definitely do NOT recommend this product due to unreliability and lack of response from manufacturer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome, perfect for my needs, market changer Of course, like most photographers, I will continue to use my speed flash and bank of led lights when appropriate. However, for my fire and rescue photography work and as a in my pocket, just in case light it is perfect! To say it is bright is an understatement. Well built. More features than I expected. Can't wait to see what accessories (light box, defuser, shades, etc) come out for this gem. A couple of things, as you might expect, run time on bright is limited (15 to 20 minutes). Would be nice to have a pouch or container to keep it in. Be aware, it does get hot! This is a great next step in the tools of digital photography!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from optical slave unreliable, but good video support Bought it November 2015, and have been experimenting with using it with GoPro, smartphone (Android) and DSLR (Canon 5D III). Very good light output, suitably wide for 8 - 10 feet distance, but the bulky shape makes it less portable than the GoPro or smartphone. Main problem is the optical slave (trigger) is very unreliable. Minor annoyance is battery life and long time to recharge. Better light output than smartphone (Samsung Note 4) and powerful enough to use as bounce lighting in some locations (yielding MUCH better pictures). I only bought 1, so I can only judge from my single unit, and it may just be my unit is defective, but the optical slave needs to be MUCH better to be used. If you are relying on this for flash with a DSLR, be wary...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The product is good for what it is - however Limited light and very very blue light, nowhere near daylight. And incredibly bad design around the remote app. You MUST have your serial number card to use the bluetooth access. You lose it and you're done. I have no idea how to recover my serial numbers to register them to a new phone. The old phone works with them, but I can't recover the serial number. They're on a stupid piece of paper. Someplace. DUMB design, LumeCube.
