Unlike traditional optical media, which utilize dyes that can break down over time, data stored on an M DISC is engraved on an inorganic write layer so it will not fade or deteriorate. This engraving process renders archival grade discs practically impervious to environmental exposure, including light, temperature, and humidity. Based on ISO/IEC 16963 standard longevity tests, M DISCs have a projected lifetime of several hundred years.

I've been ordering from B&H for several years now, and every time they deliver my order accurately and on time. Easiest online vendor to work with in my experience. They work WITH you and FOR you every time. Best online shopping experience on the Internet!

M-Disc at best price

I highly recommend these M disks to do a back up of your cloud and all of your photos that you take with your smart phones and backup to your laptop. If it's true that these desks disks can last up to 100 years then the only thing we have to worry about is to make sure in 100 years they still have devices that can read these discs and share these photos that we back up today.

Cold archival storage, large capacity.

These discs are great, large capacity, no organic layer that will get bitrot, peace of mind because I don't trust hhds. some of my stuff wont fit on the 50 gb m-discs but will fit on these, and b and h has the best prices for these. these discs were going for 17-18 dollars minimum everywhere else, but b and h had them on backorder for 10.40, i backordered a bunch and b and h got stock a week or 2 later and shipped right away. these discs burned well on my lg wh14ns40 at 4x speed using the free program cdburner xp. DO NOT burn these discs or any discs in file explorer windows will screw them up most of the time and not finalize so the disc is indefinitely open without udf. learned that the hard way. these are probably better than regular blu rays that use an inorganic metal layer, but for all I know both of them will outlast me, these are higher grade discs tho, almost certain these are the highest grade blu rays money can buy. but these are defiantly much much much better than the organic layer lth discs, those are as bad or worse at archival than hhds.

I got these to backup my photos and home movies. I am an Uber paranoid backup person. This gives peace of mind. Of course I have to hope that there will be a cd reader somewhere many years from now if needed lol.

Seems ok, but not with Pioneer drives

Does not work (except occasionally, at half rated speed) on Pioneer XDR drives. No idea whether that's Pioneer's or Verbatim's fault, but be careful.

I have a blueray DVD. Can I play blueray movies on it?
Asked by: Chijioke
This blank recordable Blu-ray disc can be used to record a Blu-ray movie. However the Blu-ray player would need to support the XL capacity. Check the specifications of the Blu-ray DVD player to ensure compatibility.
