Yongnuo YN-622N II Overview

The Yongnuo i-TTL Transceiver YN622N II for Nikon Cameras 2-Pack is comprised of two 7-channel transceivers that work on the 2.4GHz frequency. The units have 3 working modes, I-TTL (II), Manual, and Multi, and have a 300' wireless range. The triggers supports FEC, FEB, FEL, 1st and 2nd Curtain Sync, Modeling flash, i-TTL II Group Ratio (ALL/A:B/A:B C), Manual/Multi group (ALL/ A:B/ A:B:C), Manual and Multi mode, Auto Zooming, Manual Zooming, and AF Lamp. The YN622N II transceivers will also support HSS (High-Speed Sync) for action freezing and greater exposure latitude. (Please see below for compatible cameras and flashes)

I feared the units would be difficult to operate initially since the instruction booklet was not written well enough for me to understand it, So , I just mounted One to camera and the other to a stand, attached flashes, one in camera to master the other to on and then powered on the YN’sboth were factory set to group A, Chsnnel , and when I depressed the shutter release the units both fired their flash unit. Adjusting the off camera flash was easy from the master flash. At any rate it all works even though the instructions are the poorest I’ve ever tried to make sense of.

What's the difference between the YN622N and the YN622N II?

The two main differences between the older transceivers and the Yongnuo YN622N II would be the new remotes provide quick release lever locking hot shoes, while also adding USB ports for firmware updates. The addition of a USB port for firmware updates allows the possibility of new features and functions to be added to the remotes by the manufacturer later in the future. Otherwise, the units are expected to be similar in design and usage.

Only the flashes listed on the product page are the models that have be confirmed as compatible with this trigger. Your results may vary with any other flash that has not been tested.

Will these work with Nikon D810?

I tested these on two different Nikon D810 bodies and they don't work on either. I have the latest firmware. The on camera flash automatically switches from ttl mode to A or SU-4 when it should be in Commander mode on TTL. I've tested with both SB-900 and SB-910. Works fine on my D750, but won't fire at all on my D810. Also with no flash on camera it won't fire the off camera flashes either.
