The Manfrotto MK190X3-3W1 Aluminum Tripod pairs the MT190X3 legs with the 804 MK II 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head. The tripod features a Quick Power Lock System, ground level adapter, and an Easy Link attachment. It can hold up to 22 lb of gear, and has a maximum height of 67.7". The ground level adapter replaces the center column to allow the ball head's plate to sit just 8.27" above the ground with the legs at their widest angle.

The QPL system allows the three leg sections to be completely extended with one hand for simple set up. An Easy Link adapter attachment allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets. Each leg has four angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain.

The included 804 MK II 3-way pan/tilt head incorporates retractable handles to decrease the overall size when not in use. A built-in spring assists with the tilting motion of the head by compensating for heavier lenses and cameras with off-center loads. The head stands 4.7" high, weighs 1.65 lb, and can hold up to 8.8 lb. A 200LT-PL quick release plate is included for quickly attaching and removing your camera from the head.

Manfrotto MH804 3-Way, Pan-and-Tilt Head with 200LT-PL Quick Release Plate

This MH804 3-Way, Pan-and-Tilt Head from Manfrotto has a load capacity of 22 lb and can be attached to tripods or other support systems that feature a 3/8"-16 mount. It includes an integrated RC2 quick release cam lock and a 200LT-PL Quick Release Plate. RC2 compatible quick release plates such as the 200LT-PL can be removed from the head by pulling the cam lock's spring-loaded lever, which also allows the plate to be quickly reattached. The cam lock also features a safety catch to prevent the 200LT-PL, or another compatible quick release plate from accidentally disconnecting.

Cameras, sport optics, or camcorders that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the quick release plate before securing it to the pan-and-tilt head. The head can be rotated 360°, tilted 90° forwards or 30° backwards, as well as 90° sideways for portrait orientation. Each of these three movements function independently of each other, have dedicated control handles, and can be locked into place. In addition to integrating the ability to individually lock the movements by twisting each corresponding handle's rubberized grip, the telescoping control handles for both tilt functions can also be retracted while the head is not in use for more convenient storage or transport.

To promote fast, repeatable, and accurate device positioning, this MH804 3-Way, Pan-and-Tilt Head also includes dedicated angle scales for each movement that are designed for easy visibility. For heavier loads, built-in counterbalance springs help ensure smooth as well as gradual backwards and forwards tilt movements.

This tripod is incredibly sturdy. I wanted a tripod that wasn't heavy but had some heft to it. This is such a great balance between the two. The tilting head is super great. I shoot 4x5 so this works perfect !

A Solid Tripod

So I'm somewhat new to Photography. My previous tripod was a cheap $15 off brand. I know it was time to upgrade when my heart stopped beating on the 3rd time my 2 year old walked by it when my camera was attached and barely bumped it causing it to shift like crazy. I have not used my new ,Manfrotto MK190X3-3W1 Aluminum Tripod with 804 MK II 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head,"out in the field" yet, but just from my first initial view and attaching the camera on it, it seems very solid. I feel like I can breath easy when my kids are around it. I love how fast the legs extend and collapse. If anything, my only complaint as of now is that it is heavier then I thought it was going to be. Maybe I need to hit the gym more often, or maybe I've become used to the lightweight of my $15 tripod. But either way, this thing is beast. I would not want to take this on a hiking trip. Other than that, for now, I like it.

can I mount a vanguard alta bh-250 ball head on this tripod?
Asked by: Arturo
Yes, both use the 3/8"-16 standard mount. The BH250 comes with a 1/4"-20 adapter, so remove it if you have it installed in the ballhead when you attempt to mount the head to the tripod legs.
