Garmin 010-03717-54 overview

  • 1Description

Get comprehensive, real-time run statistics, including wrist-based heart rate data, with the Garmin Forerunner 235 in black and gray. This GPS- and GLONASS-supported running watch shows you distance, pace, and heart rate data on its 1.23" color display. Additionally, the 235 incorporates more advanced running metrics and features, including Virtual Pacer, VO2 max estimate, and more, giving you all the data you need to be a better and more efficient runner. An accelerometer is built in, so you can still capture running data when you're running indoors without the need for a separate foot pod accessory. In addition to running data, the Forerunner 235 also works as an everyday wellness and activity tracker. It counts your steps, calories burned, monitors your sleep quality, and will cue you to move when you've been sitting too long.

The Forerunner 235 enables you to share all your run and activity data and monitor your progress at Garmin Connect. Garmin Connect is Garmin's free online community where you can plan, save, and share your activities. Download the Garmin Connect Mobile application to your compatible smartphone and all your activity data can be automatically uploaded from your Forerunner 235 to Garmin Connect.

The Forerunner 235's rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to 11 hours in full training mode (using GPS-tracking and full running features) and up 9 days in watch mode (including activity tracking, smart notifications, and heart rate monitoring). It can store up to 200 hours of running and activity data, so even if you can't sync right away, you won't lose any important information. Additionally, the Forerunner 235 is designed to withstand water pressures equivalent to a depth of 50 meters, so you can take it with you in the rain, snow, and sunshine.

Heart Rate Measured at the Wrist
The Forerunner 235 is equipped with Elevate heart rate technology that measures your heart rate at the wrist, enabling you to run without a chest strap. A colorful gauge on the Forerunner display indicates your heart rate zone and beats per minute in real time.
Customize Your Watch and Your Training
Tailor your Forerunner to suit your needs and help you reach your goals. Download advanced workouts and training plans directly from Garmin Connect. Use Connect IQ to customize your data fields, download watch faces, widgets, and applications.
On and Off the Road Running
A built-in accelerometer enables the Forerunner 235 to capture distance and pace data when you're running on an indoor track or treadmill, no separate foot pod accessory needed. When you're not running, the Forerunner 235 works as an activity tracker, counting your steps and calories burned throughout the day. It also reminds you to move after sitting for more than an hour. The Forerunner 235 is compatible with GPS and GLONASS satellites to locate your position quickly and precisely whether you're running deep in the woods or near tall buildings.

    Garmin 010-03717-54 reviews

Forerunner 235 GPS Running Watch with Wrist-Based Heart Rate (Black and Gray) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Watch for Runners I've had the Forerunner 235 for 1 week and have used it on 3 runs of approximately 2.5 - 3.0 miles each run and there are several things I love about the watch, but a few things that could use some firmware tweaks. First, the watch is very lightweight and almost feels cheap, however, for a running watch, that's part of the design. It's also much nicer to have physical buttons instead of a touch screen for running. If you're wearing gloves, it's so much easier to access the menu's. GPS is very accurate when measured with the GPS on my iPhone 6 and my Microsoft Band 2. All 3 were within very close range with each other, so the GPS seemed to function very well. The Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) was fairly accurate when measured with the HRM on my Microsoft Band 2. I had the Garmin 235 on my left wrist and the Microsoft Band 2 on my right to see how both performed. During all 3 runs, the Garmin 235 was, on average, about 4 BPM different than the BPM on the Microsoft Band 2. Example is when the Microsoft Band 2 would say 150 BPM, the Garmin would say 146. It wasn't always 4 BPM off, but that seemed to be the average. I would, however, get a couple of heart rate spikes on the Garmin that I didn't get on the Microsoft Band. As my HR would be around 154 it would suddenly shoot up to 180 for about 10 seconds, then come back down. That happened on more than one occasion. My greatest complaint about the Garmin watch is the backlight and overall watch face. It is very dim and nothing like you see in the photos online. If you are in dim light, it is impossible to read the watch face unless you press the button for the backlight. You have the option of turning on the backlight with the turn of your wrist, but that only works half the time. The watch face during the day, and while running, is fantastic, but in dim light it is really bad. One other thing that is really good on this watch is the Smart Notifications. When paired with your smartphone, via bluetooth the notifications work great. You can get notifications for email, phone calls, facebook, snapchat, etc., and it works flawlessly. Overall, I'm very pleased with the watch. If the watch wasn't so dim in low light and the HRM was a little more accurate and with less HR spikes, I would rate this watch 5/5, but as it is, and until a possible firmware update, I give the watch 3.5/5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great running watch! I use the watch primarily for running outdoors, and for cycling both outdoors and indoors. For running, it's great. It's relatively light (I had the Forerunner 10 before that). The Forerunner 235 is not bulky. I could wear it all day long, and won't even feel it (I don't usually wear watches). The built-in optical heart rate monitor works well. I don't need to wear it very tight, just snug. When I stop running immediately, or sprint, there is a bit of a lag. But for normal paced running, it's fantastic. If you run at night, the wrist-turn feature doesn't work well to switch on the backlight. So I keep the backlight on all the time (which means I have to charge more often). I don't care for call/message notification, and the best part is I can un-install that component using the Garmin Express software. So it doesn't even appear on my watch. I also don't use Activity Tracking, so I have that disabled. With Bluetooth on, the watch auto-uploads my activity to Garmin Connect when it's near my mobile phone. Both cycling modes (indoors and outdoors) work well too. For speed sensors, you can change the tyre circumference, (something you couldn't do on the Edge 25!!). Once I receive my Garmin Edge 520, the best part is I can re-broadcast my heart rate (from the 235) to other ANT+ devices. So my heart-rate from the Forerunner 235 will appear on the Edge, and I record my activity on the Edge. (Currently, you cannot start an activity on the Forerunner 235 while broadcasting your heart rate signal). Finally, the battery, well, it could be improved. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the watch. And I'm very glad I made the purchase. You should search the Garmin Forum, and the Forerunner 235 to find out about any quirks or modes of operation. If you've never owned a Garmin, you will also be extremely happy with the Garmin Connect offering - both the web-based and the app. I went from not running at all (200 meters max) to running a half marathon (21.1k) in 3 months. I would run once a week, and the watch helped me track my progress.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING RUNNING WATCH I have used a Fitbit HR for the past year and the Forerunner 235 is in another galaxy compared to that tracker. It is easy to see in broad daylight (even if you wear polarized sunglasses to run), it tracks an amazing amount of data for those of you who love to know your heart rate, cadence, stride length, and much much more. Battery life is fantastic. GPS + Glonass. The watch looks great for girls or guys. Still learning a lot of features, but set up is a breeze out of the box. Love, love, love this watch. Recommended it to my brother who will be running LA Marathon with me. We just finished New York City Marathon and I so wish I had this watch during that run. Buy this and you will want to run, run, run!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sporty design and lightweight it comes with a wrist base heart rate monitor. but i am not sure if it is accurate since it always shows lower heart rate compared to the one on treadmill.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Decepo Comprei o Garmin 235 sem poder verificar o aparelho antecipadamente, ou seja, s pude pega-lo aps efetuar o pagamento.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Bday Gift to ME!! So, I've been running for just over 5 years and have utilized a Polar GPS watch and a Timex Runtrainer. I found both quite helpful at the time, but this Garmin Forerunner 235 is AWESOME! I'm sure you can nitpick and find some flaws in the watch, but once you get the hang of it, it is wonderful. The app and the website are needed to get the most out of the watch. It took me some time to figure out how to create and upload an interval workout, but once I did...viola! It was so simple. I'm a competitive recreational runner. Not winning any races, but often getting age group awards, etc. So, the data this provides is just right to help me focus on my training needs in each workout. I was reluctant to spend the money, but I am seriously loving this!! Happy Bday to ME!! :-)
