GEKO E100 overview

  • 1Description

View and record activity outside of your vehicle using the E100 1080p Dash Camera from Geko. The camera features 1080p resolution at 30 fps for high-quality video and a 1.5" color LCD display, allowing you to easily view what the camera will be recording. Mount the camera to your windshield using the included suction cup mount and capture a broad vista of activity with the 120° wide-angle lens. With the ability to flip the screen orientation, you can also mount the dash camera to your car's dashboard using a dashbag (available separately). A pre-installed adjustable EV value system monitors ambient lighting and alters the dashcam's exposure value for constant high-quality video in bright or dark situations.

A microSD slot supports cards from 2GB to 32GB for recording footage, and the camera includes an 8GB microSD card for immediate use. When using a 32GB microSD card, the camera can record approximately five hours of video at 1080p resolution. The dash cam will automatically record in a continuous loop for convenient hands-free use and features a G-sensor and motion sensor for triggering write-protected recording when motion, impact, sharp turns, or drastic braking are detected. The camera also offers a parking monitor which uses a backup battery to record detected motion when the car is turned off. Durable construction with a heat-resistant lens enables the camera to withstand harsh weather conditions and a large range of temperatures.

    GEKO E100 reviews

E100 1080p Dash Camera with DVR is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Dash cam, excellent costumer service When i bought this Dash Cam i was only interested in the motion detection feature, it did not work properly at the beginning, so i had to call the manufacturer costumer service PAPAGO, they were really nice and patient. after the ran multiple test they figure out that the SD card which cam with my Dash Cam was defective, so the ship a new SD card for me which arrived within 2 business days. this product is a great deal, it only cost me 55$ and it has full Hd recording which is amazing. it also has motion detection, G sensor, and a lot of other great feature. i highly recommend buying this Dash Cam, especially if you're beginner in Dash cam.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job I have mounted this one in my rear window well to make it a rear-facing dash cam. If you're familiar with dash cams, this one will do the trick. It's fairly small but that is actually good as it becomes less obtrusive in my installation. (I did have to tape over the viewing screen however to avoid distractions.) A little too many buttons on the device for my tastes. Since I am using as a standard dash cam, I don't need any--just as long as it turns on with car power--and it will assuming you wire it in properly or your 12V outlet powers on with ignition. Unfortunately, mine are powered all the time so I had to locate an alternate power source.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very weird thing After installing this and plug it into my dash outlet, my keyless entry suddenly stopped working! Tried to figure it out and then realize it is due to the dash cam. Unplug it and my keyless entry function came back. My car is a GM SUV. I'm not an electric engineering but I think it may be due to two things: There is an unknown interference between the cam and the keyless entry, which I suspect the cam doesn't pass any FCC test; Or the power of the car can't support both the keyless entry and cam same time, which means the cam drains a lot of power from your battery. I think this product is no better than other products on the market.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Low quality camera After several days with this camera, it went back to B&H. Pros: It was on sale. Compact size. Easy to handle. Cons: Videos and images are bad. Worse than any camera of this type. Totally unusable at night. Very cheap components. Low quality display, retains previous image just after few minutes. Mic volume is very low. Almost unusable. The device failed to write to the memory card after three days of use. The factory reset and format didn't help. The manufacturer recommends to use a Class 6 memory card, but the included card is Class 4.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not last I received this dashcam from B&H in mid-January. It worked for about 2 weeks when the screen became scrambled. Sometimes it scrambles soon after I turn on the car. Sometimes it scrambles after 20 mins of use. Never consistent, but eventually that problem went away after not using for a week or so. Now it is late-February, and every time I start the car, the screen displays Memory Error. I've never switched out the manufacturer included microSD card. Ever since the first few days when I was setting it up, I've never even taken the card out of the slot. So after seeing the error, I've tried restarting a few times, formatting the card a few times, taking it out and inserting it back into the slot a few times. Nothing works. Memory Error every time I start the car. Now it's past the return period at B&H, and the manufacturer's 1-year warranty requires me to mail the whole thing back to them. I'm not even sure it's worth the cost/effort if they're just going to replace it with another one of the same model. The features of this dashcam may be appealing, but the durability is not good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only lasted for a couple of months The design of the cam is compact and cute. I have had other in-dash cams before and this one looked better than others, which normally uses a public design with cheap looking. This one worked well in the first couple of months then it died. Tried all I can but no way to wake it up. I heard from other reviewers that the manufacturer requires customers to ship the bad unit back on their own cost. That's the so called warranty for a bad unit. Don't don't buy this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again in the future The small guy is great, clear and wide, easy to use. But the user manual did not give a clear instruction on daytime mode and night mode and what is the different between them. Cano not update the firmware. I asked the company but no response.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little Dash Camera I ordered this camera because I had from time to time used my cell phone to record portions of driving trips and narrating what I saw i.e. traffic conditions, the scenery, etc. This camera now allows me to record everything on the road, describe what I'm seeing and in a much safer manner than using my cell phone. The compact size easily stows away when I don't need it. Video and audio are very good and clear. Glad I purchased it from B&H...The price was right, shipping was free and it arrived very quickly!
