- Frame Breaks Down into 4 Pieces
The RoadFlags II Frame is part of a system of light controls made by Matthews for the mobile photographer or videographer who needs to travel fast and light. The 48 x 48" metal frame sets up and breaks down into 4 pieces in seconds and fits in an optional 15 x 49" carry case.

Do these frames have the same warning as Road ...
Do these frames have the same warning as Road Rags about interior use only? Are these strong enough to use outside in moderate wind?
You can use them in the light wind, but beware. I do not recommend using a C stand. Something stronger is required if you are working alone. Two sandbags recommended. It is best to have an assistant. They are great for diffusing direct sunlight. Enough coverage for a head and shoulders portrait, if you are showing a half body in your composition you may start to see the edges of the frame in your shot. I use the silk diffuser. Even though they are collapsible I like to load them into my van assembled. On-site assembly is a pain. They are a great investment for a location portrait photographer. No regrets here!

What is the upgrade from the version 1?
What is the upgrade from the version 1?
PM Great question! The original frame only broke down into two pieces and was stored in a larger configuration, but the Road Flags II breaks down into four pieces and as a result can be packed away into a much more portable configuration.

I ordered this frame yesterday, and I wonder if there are more diffusers than the Matthews RoadFlag Fabric, Artificial Silk, that I can buy? I am most interested in a diffuser that stops at least two stops of light, like the Savage Translum Heavy Weight Grade? It seems I must buy this separate and cut it to the fit the 48 x 48 frame?
While Matthews only has the one silk for the kit, you can use any diffusion you want with clips. Translum can work if cut down to size.

Can this be fitted to an umbrella adapter such as https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1359191-REG/manfrotto_026z_lite_tite_nero.html/specs ?
Looks as though the pin will fit into this receiver, but i don't believe the adapter is robust enough to support the RoadFlags II frame. A 2.5" Grip Head is recommended.
