Opteka FF220 Reviews

Can scratch camera. Doesn't work with smaller lenses.

The rubber pad on the part that attaches to camera is on one side only. So if you want to pull focus from the left side of your camera, you have to flip that part upside down and now you have metal on metal. I have the Fujifilm 18-55 kit lens that comes with the X-t4 or X-t3. It's 58mm and the FF gear will not reach the lens.

I recommand if ur budget is limited but it's actually good.

This follow focus is a great thing to start with for aspiring filmmakers who can take their time to build their rig. As you can you use it just your tripod mount if you where to buy a cage and bars there is also an attachment for that. I love this follow focus!

Great for the price

Great to start out with but it will get loose after time. But for a basic film maker, it works great!!

Remarkably Good for the Money

I was concerned that this device would disappoint, as the alternatives were all 5x as much money. I have used it on my Sony FS 700 with Rokinon Cine Primes and it really does the job. No it's not as rugged as the rail based pro products, but for me where focus pulling is only an occasional requirement, it does the job quite well without the large investment in a rail system.

question

Is it possible to reverse the focus spin direction?
Asked by: Njord N.
This interesting device is, in what we see, not reversible in that way. The reversible ability appears be being able to put it on either side of the lens.

question

can i use this with HVX200A?
Asked by: Anonymous
You can use this with the HVX200A. You will need a lens gear. Do not worry, many are available. Here are two that will fit. The Cavision Focus Gear Ring CARFGR99 B&H # CARFGR99 is very compact and is very affordable. However, it is a special order. The Lanparte Gear Ring for Follow Focus B&H # LAFFGR01 is in stock, is good quality and can be used on a variety of lenses. It is a little bulky.
