The 566 to 608 and 614 to 638 MHz version of the Sony UWP-D16 Integrated Digital Plug-on & Lavalier Combo Wireless Microphone System features an all-metal chassis, an easy to read LCD display, a wide switching RF bandwidth, USB power and charging options, automatic channel scanning, infrared synchronization between transmitter and receiver, Mic/Line switchable inputs on both the bodypack and plug-on transmitter, +48V phantom power from the plug-on transmitter, a true diversity receiver, PLL-synthesized tuning, an output gain control on the receiver for optimizing the audio input level to a camera/camcorder, and digital companding circuitry. The package is suitable for a wide range of wireless applications such as ENG, documentary work, talk shows, conferences, and more.
The system is referred to as integrated digital because the transmitters and receivers utilize DSP for digital companding and expanding of the transmission signal. Performing the companding and expanding processes in the digital domain improves the accuracy and transient response of the received audio.
The camera-mountable receiver features true diversity technology which stabilizes reception and minimizes RF interference by using dual antenna input/reception circuits and selecting the strongest incoming signal. The angle of the antennas is also adjustable to improve reception when the receiver is mounted on top of a camera or camcorder. The system utilizes UHF Phase Locked Loop (PLL) synthesis to lock the phase of the transmission frequency between transmitter and receiver. The receiver can automatically search for an available transmission frequency and link the desired frequency to the transmitter via infrared connection.
A stereo mini-jack output with monitor volume control is featured and both stereo mini and stereo XLR cables are provided for optimizing the audio input into a camera or camcorder. The unit also includes a headphone monitor output for use with cameras and camcorders that don't have a monitor output. An LCD display provides channel and frequency information, battery life, RF-input level, audio-output status and accumulated operating time.
For power, the receiver operates on two AA batteries for up to 6 hours, or on 5 VDC of USB power over a USB micro B cable. The USB connection can also be used to recharge Ni-MH rechargeable batteries within the battery cartridge. The receiver's compact design and included shoe-mount adapter allows easy mounting to most camcorders and interchangeable lens system cameras.
The improved plug-on and bodypack transmitters feature mic- and line-level switches for standard wired microphone- or line-level sources. The plug-on transmitter also features selectable +48V of phantom power for connection to a condenser microphone. Selectable transmission output power provides a choice between 5mW output, which is suitable for simultaneous multi-channel operation, or 30mW output for long distance transmission.
The transmitters can operate for up to 8 hours on two AA-size alkaline batteries, be powered or recharged via USB micro B connections, and feature comprehensive LCD displays.
The system comes with an omnidirectional lavalier microphone, a windscreen for the microphone, a microphone holder clip, two belt clips, a shoe-mount adapter, a 3-pin mini to mini stereo cable, and a 3-pin mini to XLR cable. Optional accessories such as a microphone holder, battery case, and soft case for the receiver are sold separately.
The SMAD-P3 Multi-Interface Shoe Adapter by Sony is for connecting the UWP-D series wireless receiver directly to a camera. It can be used to eliminate the need for connecting cables in applications using Sony cameras and camcorders. Using a multi-interface shoe connection eliminates the need for an XLR output cable. Power can also be supplied by the camera, and the camera can control power on/off, unifying power management.
The SMAD-P3 is applicable to XDCAM Camcorders PXW-X70, PXW-X160, PXW-X180, PXW-X280, PXW-X200 and PXW-FS7, Handycam HXR-MC2500, FDR-AX100, NEX-VG900 & NEX-VG30, plus interchangeable lens digital cameras Alpha a7, a7R, a7S, a99, a7S pro, and Cyber-shot DSC-RX10.
The Sony F112 is a professional, omnidirectional microphone designed for Electronic New Gathering (ENG) applications. The F112's frequency response and sensitivity are optimized for accurate reproduction of vocals, accentuating the range that enhances clarity while reducing residual noise. The omnidirectional pattern results in minimal noise from wind, with even signal reproduction at the sides and direct sections of the capsule. This is particularly useful while vying for the best possible microphone placement in awkward, crowded environments. The extra-long shaft allows plenty of room for radio and TV flags, and the rugged enclosure is durable enough to withstand frequent use on location.
With a compact form and smooth tone, the Sony ECM-673 shotgun microphone offers strong, clean output signal for event video shoots, indie film production, TV and documentary shooting, court room depositions, and more. Plus, its 7.9" long body is short enough to be placed atop a camera while maintaining focused directional behavior and keeping out of the camera's view.
The ECM-673 features a supercardioid polar pattern for excellent directivity and minimal noise at the off-axis sections of the capsule, resulting in intelligible voice pickup even in noisy environments. The microphone's wide, flat frequency response yields natural, accurate signal reproduction with crisp detail and minimal coloration.
The ECM-673 runs on 40 to 52 VDC phantom power, making it compatible with a variety of professional camcorders, multitrack field recorders, and portable audio recorders. It includes microphone spacers and a mic holder to accommodate camera-mount and stand-mount configurations.
The Sony EC15BX UWP 3-Pole Locking Mini Plug to XLR (Female) Cable is designed for use with the UTX-B2V or UTX-B2X.
The MDR-7506 is a staple within the recording, film and live arenas. Due to its low impedance and closed-ear design, these headphones do an outstanding job of cutting down background noise while providing plenty of volume in the studio or in the field. Additionally, the closed design helps eliminate headphone bleed when overdubbing in the studio.
The MDR-7506 is an over-ear design and is ideal for use with MIDI workstations, camcorders, or other equipment with less than powerful headphone amplification. The headphone has a foldable design, making it convenient to store or transport, and its coiled cable allows it to stretch and spring back into place whenever you need a bit more reach.
