question
What are the differences between the Vello BG-S3 Battery Grip & the genuine Sony grip other than the humongous price gap?
Technically they do the same thing. Many prefer the cameras manufactures version over a third party brand. That is very subjective.

question
does it have a second mount point for vertical mounting? that would be very useful

question
Would this work with the Sony A7sii? If not, which 3rd party battery grip will work?
I just got the grip and it works, but now it's doing strange things, like activating custom buttons without me pushing them, and changing the f-stop. I may have to return it and shell out the $300, ugh!

question
Dose this work with a6X00? Battery's look the same. Both A7 and A6 use Sony NP-FW50 battery.
Cameras like the A6300 do use NP-FW50 batteries, however they have a different design on the bottom than the A7 series of cameras. This battery grip is not recommended with an A6300. Instead we offer B&H #VEBGS4, which is a Vello Battery Grip designed specifically for Sony Alpha a6300.

question
Can batteries be individually swapped out without powering-down the camera?
You could use a USB Battery plugged into the camera to power it while you make a battery change.

What's the best vertical grip for the a6500?
The gryp is great on my a7sii. I dont know if it fits the 6500.

question
Is this grip compatible with the a7s, or only the a7s II ?
