question

Studio 14 is free with certain Blackmagic products (e.g. Ursa Mini Pro). Is there a list of all the Blackmagic products which include a free copy of Resolve 14?
Asked by: Arthur
The URSA camera's and the Cinema Cameras come with a version of DaVinci Resolve Studio. Whatever the version it is, you can download an upgrade to DaVinci Resolve 14 Studio Public Beta 2 for free. DaVinci Resolve 12.5 and Resolve 14 Public Beta 2 remain free to anyone.

Is it possible to transition from DaVinci Resolve ...

Is it possible to transition from DaVinci Resolve 15 to DaVinci Resolve Studio 15 without having to desinstall it? I'm working on a project in DaVinci 15 (free) and I would like to finish in Studio, but I don't want to mess it up. Once I'm done with this project, I will upgrade to DaVinci Studio 16. If I buy the dongle, will it work with both 15 and 16?
Asked by: Anna
When Resolve launches, if the dongle is present, the studio features become unlocked; if it's not present, Resolve operates in the Free mode. The dongle will work for versions 15 and 16, as well as future versions.

Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Studio B & H # BLDRCCS.

what is the minimum graphics card version i need ...

what is the minimum graphics card version i need to use this software?
Asked by: Mohammad
There are minimum levels of CUDA / OpenCL or METAL needed. IIRC the original versions of CUDA, and OpenCL won't function. You can test this with the free version of Resolve before buying the dongle for the "Studio" version. I have a Nvidia Quadro 2000 card based on their Fermi architecture that runs Resolve. The system will run on my recent Lenovo (T560) laptops with embedded Intel accelerated graphics. But it really doesn't run well. The system's performance is dependent upon the number of accelerated graphics cores and the amount of graphics memory available to them. If you try and run Resolve on a minimal system, you will not get acceptable performance at HD and it will be all but unusable at higher resolutions. The versions in the previous answer are the minimum that Resolve will recognize and use. The system will not run efficiently on these cards. Plan on buying a recent accelerated graphics card if you want to use Resolve productively. It doesn't have to be the latest technology, but it needs to be reasonable. A few GB of memory, 150 or more cores.
