According to Technical Pro, the Rack Mount Ears are removable. The Width of the unit will be 17".

Can A and B speakers be on at the same time?
Yes you can run both A and B at the same time. The Speaker A/B switch on the unit and the remote toggles from A only, B only and both A and B. One other note that I was curious about before I got mine hooked up is that the A and B output is disabled when you plug in headphones on the headphone mini jack.
