Sennheiser G3-A reviews

ew 112-P G3-A Wireless Lavalier System with Zoom H4nSP Recorder & Accessories Kit (516-558 MHz) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressed! I have been a long time user of Lectro wireless and recently purchased a set of thes G3 wireless with ME-2 lav for use with my low budget clients. Immediately I am loving how you can digitally enter a custom label allowing easy identification. Additionally I am very impressed with the ease of finding an open frequency and using IR pairing transmitter with receiver. The system runs flawlessly with NiMh AA batteries and get long run times. The menu is a little frustrating and I find myself inadvertently exiting instead of selecting but that is truly an operator error. Range and signal strength were concerns initially but the RX uses the audio out cable as a second antenna making it a diversity RX which greatly increases range and reliability. I typically only use sanken or tram wires but this kit came with the ME-2 lav so I decided to give it a try. The sound quality is excellent. It is on par with the tram lav quality (maybe a bit lower) but has a nice design and doesn't have a gigantic head. My only complaint is the length of the wire. It is not quite long enough to ankle mount the TX on adults. All in all I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Also the H4n this kit comes with is a rockstar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Far better sound... This was a great package, and got us up and running for a live training session with far greater sound than we would have had otherwise. The Zoom is easy to use, and the mic sounds great. No problems with interference or static with the wireless at all. You might want to look up how to synch your transmitter and receiver. That took a few attempts, but a YouTube video got us right on track. Highly recommend this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great starter kit I bought this kit for a 5-day shoot entirely in the field under very windy and cold conditions. The lav mics are top quality-they allowed me to get good usable audio without too much wind noise in 30+ mph winds by pinning them under an outer jacket. I've used the zoom H4 a lot in the past and its a great reliable recorder. It is very slow to turn on after you have recorded a few gigs of audio. After the first week the headphone jack stopped working on the Zoom recorder-perhaps I jostled it too much in the case I was carrying it in, or left it plugged in to the headphone cable and then torqued it. At any rate I can't monitor sound on the Zoom any more. If I had abused it less it would probably have lasted longer, but it also seems a little more sensitive than I had expected. Hopefully I can repair it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Microphones I have never used this kind of equipment before yesterday. It is very simple to use, calibrate and understand how they work. I was amazed by the quality of the sounds they can record. I have been recording amazing nature sounds with the zoom H4n, sometimes it records sounds from very far away. I find the entire kit to be a great mix for anyone that is considering having great audio shots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Deal I bought this as a bundle since I needed a wireless lavalier system for a documentary type interview shoot. The mics work great right out of the box, with easy setup. The deal was good since I got H4nSP for almost just $50.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never lets me down... I've used this brand before and thought it was time to invest in my own equipment. Though it's a bit expensive the quality is evident...from the design and durability to the sound quality. Spend more for the quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! What can I say except I am very pleased with this. Works flawlessly - no interference or interruptions. Clean and clear vocals. The ZOOM was a nice extra. Though I had a Tascam DR-40 this serves as a back-up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing kit Im not an audiophile, so take this with a grain of salt.... The over all kit is (as the title says) amazing. The wireless reciever cilps on tight to the subjects snd stays secure. Cannel selection is a breeze and the gain selection works very well. I get clear sound from 30 ft away (havent gone any further than that personally). I bought this kit to suplement my old Cannon camera with no mic input so the Zoom is a very handy piece of equipment. Not really a probelm, becasue the device does everything that you could honestly ask of it, but the Zoom controlls are a little confusing. I have not used the remote yet (NO BATTERY SHIPPED), so i cant comment on it. The card is always nice to have beyond being required for the Zoom. The splitter cable is ok, nothing wrong with it, but nothing that makes it shine. Just a bonus like the batteries. I would fully recomend this kit to photojounalist that deal more with still photography than video. Set up is simple and it adds amazong sound to your videos. Is it better than other items on the market? This is my first wireless mic purchase, so i could not say either way with any confidence.
