    Gitup Git2 reviews

Git2 Action Camera (Pro Pack) is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Git One (or Two)! This action cam is a steal! Video quality is amazing with the Sony sensor, sound quality with internal mic is good, with external mic is exceptional for an action cam (it can record in stereo, be sure to use the GoPro mini usb to 3.5mm female stereo adaptor). Image stabilization is quite effective. Save yourself a bundle versus a GoPro and consider a Git2. The functionality in the firmware is extensive! I'm running FW v1.6. Note that for the mechanically inclined, a new 90 degree FOV (non-fish eye) lens has recently been made available for the Git2. Kudos to the folks over in China who are designing/marketing this cam.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Camera for the Money I bought this camera to use in a gimbal attached to a quadcopter and for some general outdoor recording of action sports, fishing, etc. The gimbal is designed for a GoPro, but this camera fits in it perfectly. The dimensions and button placement are identical. The live video out for the GoPro that came with the gimbal also works great, giving me live feed through my FPV system. All of the GoPro attachemnts I have tried with it fit without a problem. GoPro batteries do not fit this camera, but batteries for the SJ4000 do, so there are low cost battery options on the market. The video and still photo quality are fantastic with this little camera. Out of the box, blues are a bit over saturated, but not bad at all and there are settings for color correction in the camera. I was most interested in the 1080p 60 fps video, and it certainly doesn't disappoint. I'm am also quite impressed with the gyro stabilization that is built in to this camera. It really does work well. I was skeptical at first, but it takes out a lot of the shake and vibration that might be introduced to the camera which means you get very smooth video. It also does not warp the edges of the image like other stabilizers I've seen. The only thing that took a bit of getting used to is the menu system. It's not difficult to use, but it's not intuitive either. After a few days of using the camera, it was no longer a problem, but things could be set up a bit more consistently and intuitively. I am anxious for Gitup to release the official app for this camera. FinalCam works with it, but there are some limitations with it. Once the official app is released, I will likely use the app for changing settings on the camera while it is mounted to my boat or quadcopter. Overall, I would definitely recommend this camera. The availability of accessories, the pricing, and the very good image quality makes this a great lower cost option to other action cameras like a GoPro. I will likely be purchasing more of them for other applications.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hero Killer? Received this 3 weeks ago and took it on a Caribbean cruise. While the menu system has a learning curve, the image stabilization, USB port for external microphone, 128gb micro SD card support, remote control, 4K video (interpolated) and 1080p, uinque waterproof housing lock system more than make up for it. You can feel the quality of this unit. Does not feel cheap or flimsy like other action cam's I've purchased or used. The images are crisp and clear -certainly on par - if not better than the GoPro Hero and anything else that they can throw at it. The down side is the menu system. There are 3 buttons on this unit and all can access a menu. Also the waterproof housing does not have a door that you can switch to allow for better sound. The USB port is situated in such a way that even if you drilled a hole in it to access the microphone port, the locking wheel is in the way. The Git2 does not do as well as the Hero in low light conditions. Not a terribly noticeable amount, but Hero fanboys will of course pick it apart like vultures as they tend to do from time to time. All in all, I'm well pleased with the Git2. In fact it exceeded my expectation. You'd be doing yourself a favor by picking one of these up. You won't be sorry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compared to a GoPro Save some money and purchase this before a GoPro. There are slight differences but this camera will give you great results! Saved $ With this camera. Compare the two and see for yourself!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent camera if you can deal with all the work arounds Good Camera, but with a lot of work arounds. 1. The've yet to make an dedicated app for it, and the one listed as a stand in doesn't work very well. I had to do my own research to find that the Camshot B app works fairly well with this camera. 2. If you choose to shoot raw images, the raw file to DNG converter required to open the raw image files only comes in a PC version, so if you use a Mac you have to run a PC emulator program in order to convert your files. 3. (still raw only issue) When you use the DNG converter you end up with muddy red images, that are difficult to correct in Adobe Camera Raw (simply clicking a neutral area, doesn't fix it). There is a script that I found that is supposed to help, but I haven't been able to get it to work on my Mac. I will say that the camera itself seems to perform fine. If they make an app and improve the DNG converter, this camera would be amazing at this price. If you don't care about shooting raw files or having to use a third party app for wifi then this is actually a pretty good camera, especially for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little camera I needed something to take out on the water to show off my small wooden boat designs, and will work great. All the power of the pricey GoPro's, but with out the high price. The Gyro function was worth the money just for that. Be nice if they had a manual to understand how all the functions worked on the camera. You have to go to YouTube to see that, but it's there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for. I upgraded to the latest firmware when i got the camera, but the quality of the video is not anywhere near what you get with a gopro or the latest garmin virb. There are also other compromises at every step, such as the abysmal quality of the IOS app and the lack of basic software for your mac/pc to do things like flip the video upright when it was taken upside down such as on a bike. That is where the price point comes into play, since the Git2 is way cheaper. If you can live with the many limitations compared to the more expensive cameras, then it is a good camera to get by with on the cheap. For me, I returned the camera, as I didn't feel the camera was worth even the price B&H charge. If it was $50, I would have kept it as a toy to play with, but it wasn't good enough for serious use.
