It's a solid capture card. Make sure to read the instructions on driver installation though. I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't extract the zip file they provided and that gave me great problems but the moment I extracted it the installation was a success!

Magewell Pro Capture HDMI Card

I recently bought a 2 channel Magewell Capture card to use with WireCast streaming program that I am using. It worked so well that I sent it back and bought the 4 channel card. It also worked very, very good. It lets me adjust the size of the individual inputs to fit the screen. So I would recommend it to anyone needing to get video into their computer.

Will this work well with a 2017 iMac 27 inch i5 processor, or does it pull too much CPU power?
Asked by: Craig
no this will not work on an iMac as it requires a PCIe Gen2 x4 slot. your solution for an iMac would be an external thunderbolt capture solution

Can this card be used for seamless operation as a live camera when using Zoom, Skype, Cisco Webex, etc? I've got the Blackmagic Decklink but some programs don't recognize the card - can get video and no audio or it works fine. I'm looking for a card that can reliably work with the live networks. Many thanks everyone!

Magewell lists this card as compatible with both Zoom and Skype. They do not list WebEx though.

Will this card show up as a camera in Microsoft Teams and work as a Teams camera input device?
Asked by: Will
While we have not bench tested this product for the result asked about in this inquiry, we have tested several external Magewell card with similar acquisition specs and those did come up as proper input devices on Zoom and some other conferencing software.

Does this work with Macbook Pro 2019 models? Also, is it compatible with OBS and/or Qlab software?
Asked by: Joe
Yes, this is compatible with MACOS and OBS, (for streaming/editing I assume) but it my not be the right solution for you as this is an internal solution for a full desktop system. Perhaps en xenternal box would suit you better, specially if you will be recording in different locations and need to be fully portable.

Is this capture video live?
Asked by: Team Ice
This, this can be used to capture live video from cameras or camcorders that have a clean HDMI output. You will need to use it with compatible software though for recording. Wirecast Pro, which is streaming software, also allows for ISO recordings of the inputs. https://bhpho.to/2SCygC6

question

!an I use this card for pcie gen3 16x?
Asked by: Kirill K.
The previous answer is incorrect. All PCIe generations are backwards compatible. Pinning from PCIe 1.0 to PCIe 4.0 are the same, differences are in clock speed and data encoding. As to your question, yes a x4 card will work fine in a x16 slot, though it's a waste of the other 12 channels (depending on motherboard).
