Key Features
- 24MP Leica MAX Full-Frame CMOS Sensor
- Maestro Image Processor
- Stills-Only Operation, No Live View
- Rangefinder Focusing
Purveying the essence of rangefinder photography, the M (Typ 262) signals Leica's commitment to simple, straight photography while still incorporating contemporary qualities for refined image-making. Revolving around a full-frame 24MP CMOS sensor and Maestro image processor, the Typ 262 omits now-conventional video and live view features to produce a stills-only camera capable of shooting at up to 3 fps with sensitivities up to ISO 6400. An updated body design sees the incorporation of an aluminum alloy top plate, for a noticeable reduction in weight compared to typical brass plates, and a redeveloped shutter cocking mechanism is notably quiet for discrete shooting applications. Of course, as a Leica rangefinder, this model features a 0.68x optical viewfinder with split and superimposed manual focusing, automatic parallax correction, and automatic image field selection based on the attached lens. A 3.0" 921.6k-dot LCD monitor with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass cover is also featured, however is sparingly used for solely reviewing imagery, adjusting white balance, or navigating the two-page menu system.

question
is downloading of photos wireless ?
Downloading photos is not wireless for the Leica M 262, I use an eye-fi card (mine is a Toshiba FlashAir) which works pretty well with transferring photos from my camera to my iPhone.

question
Is the 262 In black chrome like the M7?
Sir,I'm not familiar with the M7, however, I have an M6TTL which is flat black and shows handling by my hands, sort of makes it more flat black. The M262, has an aluminum cap and is black anodized. It is very clean and is difficult to leave hand prints on it. I'm familiar with camera equipment used at extreme weather conditions, sub zero etc., they are protected the same way. Micro gravity and vacuum type enclosure would use the same treatment, unless flaking is considered under the most extreme conditions and that may cause a problem floating around and getting in the way. Not a problem with the M262... :-) Brassing will not occur, but aluminum shown through its anodized cover is just as romantic... It'll just take longer to happen... very durable.Sincerely,Mark Kaku
