Operating on the 5 GHz frequency to help avoid wireless signal interference, this adapter is compatible with 802.11a/n/ac wireless standards and also supports WEP, WPA/WPA2, and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK 64/128-bit encryption standards. As this device is small and compact, it can be plugged into most USB 2.0 ports and left there for extended periods of time without blocking adjacent ports. Additionally, a Soft AP mode allows this wireless adapter to be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot for other devices, provided the system on which it is being used has a wired network connection. TP Link's Archer T1U AC450 Wireless Nano USB Adapter is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
