    AOC U2879VF reviews

U2879VF 28" Widescreen LED Backlit LCD 4K UHD Monitor is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, cheap-ish UHD monitor I've been sitting in front of this beast for a week now, and it's an impressive sight. First, this monitor comes factory-calibrated! It's a LED-backlit IPS with 1 billion colors, so this will work nicely for video and photo. Second: it plugged straight into my 2013 Retina MBPro via HDMI, and just works. I dialled the defaults down a bit as it was very bright. Why not five stars? No holes for a VESA mount. That came as a bit of a surprise, since pretty much all monitors these days have that. My fault for not reading the tech specs all the way through, I suppose. All in all: for the price you pay, it's almost a steal, especially with the extended color range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent monitor The product came W/3 video cables, one for each type of available connection. It does not come with media. The manual is one piece of paper with numerous languages. There's only a few steps for connecting power. The monitor control buttons are on the bottom, very difficult to read and use. The 4k display is excellent. No dead pixels. I've have the monitor for 2 weeks, primary use is gaming. I drive the monitor at 4k with a Strix GTX 970, no issues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A total wash out I added this monitor to my computer room that already has an Apple Thunderbolt display and a newer Dell. Both are 2560x1440. I bought this monitor thinking it was a deal. You get what you pay for. The screen is a total wash out. You simply cannot bring it up to par, much less match the older monitors. I bought this for a new MacBook Pro that will power 5k. The monitor shows that it is getting the full input 60 hz etc from the Mac as well as my new PC. Both are Skylake processors and both put out the full 5k but this monitor just can't provide the picture quality that it should. It can't even match the older monitors I have and that is such a disappointment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value, Love the detail It has only been 2 weeks since I started using this monitor, but I am very pleased with everything at this point. Some reviews had me worried about the black levels being gray and that may be true if you have another high priced monitor sitting next to this one to compare. I was pleasantly surprised with the black level. One thing is the limited angle of view but for the price it is not a problem. I general sit at the same angle when working and can find the best angle to do that. Obviously there were no problems out of the box (damaged pixels or malfunctions) and hope this continues for years to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great monitor Great monitor, good colors. Upgrade from 1440p Korean IPS and this monitor is way better. even tho it's TN. No dead pixels and no problems with back ,light bleeding. The only con for me would be changing inputs and the way you nav the OSD.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's been a while. It has been a while since I've had a decent pair of monitors, so I'm kinuva easy target for a good review, but... The most striking features for me is the resolution and color depth... There's just so much screen real estate at 3840 x 2160 that it's almost like doubling the amount of monitors... And the black value is surprising. Artwork that I thought had black in it looked slightly gray. And when I adjusted some work to make full use of the 4k color, it was fascinating. Kinda like getting glasses and seeing sharpness and detail again.
