Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love love love!! I absolutely love my lens changer! It's so much nicer to have to carry around a couple lenses on it rather than having to fumble with a camera bag, etc. I'm an on-the-go shooter, so when I came across this product, I was stoked!! The one and only downside is you must make sure your lens *clicks* in to place... or else you won't have that lens any longer. (I luckily realized this before it was too late.) All in all, I highly recommend this product!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Needed Accessory, However... When covering an event or news story, having access to a second lens is often desired, if not required. Perish the thought of hanging a second DSLR/lens combo around my neck, however. I've also grown weary of hanging a large lens case from my belt, fumbling and juggling while making a lens change and then being weighted down to one side to the point where I look like a walking letter C. So... IMHO, a product *like* this is needed for some photographers (like me). There might be similar items out there of which I am unaware. If all lenses came with arca swiss tripod mounts, like longer telephotos do, a second camera strap with an arca mount would work well. This is not practical, especially with shorter lenses. The Vello lens changer seems to be solidly built. It is meant to hold only one lens at a time. You mount the lens you are removing from your camera to the empty side and then remove the other lens from the other side. You mount a lens in the same way you do to the camera body (Canon), matching dots and twisting. You should hear and feel a positive click when the lens locks in. To remove a lens, you slide a tab on either side which unlocks the lens allowing you to twist it off. I own a number of Vello products and trust them. I have used the Vello Lens Changer in the field with out a problem. (I trust I'll be able to repeat that statement as time passes.) I bought the item when it was heavily discounted in price at B&H. I don't know if I'd pay the full retail price for it, however. I personally would probably stick with the lens case solution. Finally, one thing to note: Each end of theVello Lens Changer is a bowl shape which, of course, allows the end of the lens mounting hardware a place to fit. When no lens is mounted, any form of dust, dirt, moisture, pet hair, &c. can collect in this bowl. This opens the possibility of transfer of this flotsam and jetsam to the lens itself. When the lens is subsequently attached to the camera, the dust/dirt is liable to fall into the camera body and onto the mirror and sensor. The VERY SIMPLE SOLUTION would've been for Vello (or even B&H) to include two (Canon) body caps along with the hardware which would cover the bowls when that particular side is not in use. Fortunately, I have extra Canon body caps which fit perfectly on the Vello unit. I would strongly suggest others purchasing this item also pickup a few extra body caps, too, as much as I hate accessories that require accessories. I'm really surprised the Vello engineers couldn't recognize the above potential problem and the relatively inexpensive solution. - 30 -

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted for hiking. When hiking my focus is on landscape photography but I like to carry a zoom lens too so I attach a strap to the tripod mount on my 100-400 canon a sling it over my shoulder - a lot more efficient than carrying a whole bag. The problem with this is the dust cap on the back up the lens, I have to expose the back of the lens and the mirror box on the camera to the elements while I try and fumble switching lenses with only one hand. This product has solved the problem allowing me to switch lenses quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great alternative to a bag if you're only bringing a lens or This is a great option if you have an extra lens or two and don't feel like carrying around a whole backpack full of gear. If you need to bring filters, you can just stuff them in your pocket. Simple and sturdy. The only thing I would recommend is to get an extra body cap to protect the lens Lunt if you're only bringing one extra lens. I missed it when it was on sale, but even at full price it's a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this again. It is well built, sturdy, attractive and easy to use. I used it on a short trip to Washington DC. I did not have any concerns about my expensive Canon L lenses becoming dislodged. Excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and well made. Backpacks are fabulous, lens changing bags are handy, but this lens changer is so simple. If you switch lenses frequently for events, this is by far the best solution I’ve used. It is like having an assistant or table right there. Lenses feel as secure as attaching to the camera body. Unlike another brand, I like that the lens is covered when attached. I used this with my 70-200mm lens and thought the strap would be too thin, but after several hours it wasn’t terribly noticeable. I am impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice product I like this product very much. It provides much easier access to lenses than carrying in a bag. Also lenses feel much lighter. However, when I attach two lenses, especially long ones, lenses might rotate a bit and need care.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Im a bit fumble-fingered, and also sometimes would like to go out without a whole lot of kit. This gadget means I can have one lens on my camera, and two lenses on this holder over my neck. Im not scrambling for the lens back cover when I change lenses, because the holder protects the back. Easy-peasy.
