TC-7610 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Retail Box is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I don't notice it - exactly what you want in a modem For the average person, a modem and a router are things that are either working or they are not. In this case, I was very quickly able to set up the modem with Time Warner Cable and I was off! This is an 8x4 bonded modem which means Time Warner limits the upload/download to 100/20 MbPS which is what my current plan is, so it was perfect. Buy this if your plan is less than 100/20 and you are sick and tired of paying rental fees. You will be ahead in a matter of months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 100% uptime This cable modem just works without any fuss. Numerous power interruptions and it comes right back every time. 100% uptime and never need to reset it. It's fast. I prefer it to all-in-one modem/router -- I have the $ TP Link WR841N router and couldn't be happier. Lghtweight (but reasonably well built) -- just watch that heavy coax hanging off the back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value Being used with Comcast without any issues, Just call Comcast give them the Mac number off the modem and within a min or 2 you are up and running. Why pay $$ to rent when its cheaper to own. I been using TP Link products for years and never had any issues with them. It handles the speeds that I pay for with Comcast which is 50 mbps download and 15mbps upload. The only complaint is the modem is light and with the cables it does move. I fixed that by using a little velcro. Very happy with the purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from defective in 2 weeks of use -- LAN end died All of a sudden, the LAN end of the unit died. It would communicate with Comcast fine, but the LAN was dead -- no IP address, acted as though the cable was unplugged. Comcast verified modem was defective by plugging in a Surfboard SB6141, which immediately got an IP address. Need a replacement unit from TP Link. Not paying for this to get only 2 weeks of use!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exelent for Xfinity I have a Xfinity Internet at home and was getting 70 Mbps... However paring this with a good AC router (TP-Archer 7) i am suddenly getting 170 Mbps. 2 things that can be understood.. 1) both the modem and my router are exelent 2) the Default router Xfinity provides are worthless, and atrificially bottle-neck the internet speed And setup is very easy.. just plug it in and call the xfinity suppirt and they will take care of every thing else

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the job done Bought this for just $45 from B&H instead of being charged $150 by our local cable company to install one of their DOCSIS 3.0 modems. For a third of the price it gets the job done. We've been watching Netflix and browsing on our phones/using Skype to talk to family in Germany, etc. So far no bumps in the connection whatsoever, and that's with a mere 15mbps from our provider. Definitely would recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Box Okay the caveat is I've had it for one day. Service from B&H was excellent as usual. I bought this to replace a DOCSIS 2.0 Mororola SBG900 modem that was working fine 24/7 since 2007! And was working when I replaced it with this one. That is reliability! But it was slowing things up on my network. I was going to buy another Motorola but found they sold it to another vendor and there were complaints so I decided to try another brand that is cheaper but has a great reputation. I am with Comcast. I followed the instructions to activate without calling them and it all went well. I did have to open a few browser tabs in Firefox to get it connected but eventually it came up. And I had to power my router and this modem off and on to get each to recognize each other after the modem had registered with Comcast. I did have all my account information handy. Once it registered I saw a noticeable speed improvement from 15g download to 25 gb which is what I've been paying for. So the move to DOCSIS 3.0 will pay off. There are absolutely no internal parameters to adjust or set other than a password. I changed the password to a secure one and then it would not let me in. So I reset it and just left the username and password as its default because there is absolutely nothing to configure inside this box anyway. So what is the point of a password to begin with? It runs hot as others have noted and should have open spaces. It will add a couple BTU's in my room in the winter which is welcome. It does make me question how long it will last though. Hopefully forever like the Motorola did. It will never be turned off. It will either keep running or just die. I'll followup if any trouble occurs. If it has a long life span it is a very good purchase. We will just have to wait and see. Hopefully in 9 more years I'll be replacing this one like I did the Motorola and will write and rave about how long it lasted! Seems to be a great little box.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nothing to it I handed this to the cable guy and he set it up. All he had to do was enter a MAC address into the cable companies system (via the phone). This is on Brighthouse network. Using this with a TP-link router. My only complaint is more aesthetic, its soo lightweight it wont sit flat on my shelf with the supplied heavy cable.
