The D1500 Starter Kit from Novatron includes one D1500 Power Pack, three 2103FC Fan-Cooled Bare Tube Lampheads, one 3' Backlight Stand, three 10' 5010T Medium Duty Light Stands, and two 43" N7043W White Umbrellas.
This is a Novatron D1500 Power Supply. Its function is to take AC line power, rectify to DC, and store it in a bank of capacitors. This stored energy can be discharged quickly and intensely through one or more flash heads.
Novatron produces power supplies in five power ratings: 240, 400, 600, 1000, and 1500 w/s. The smaller power supplies have fewer capacitors and thus are lighter in weight and lower in cost than the more powerful ones.
Power levels are visible in large LED readout window.
The Novatron 2103FC Fan-Cooled Bare Tube Lamphead is a 3-way switching convertible flash head that contains the controls to independently ratio the flash and modeling lamp at full, -1 stop, or -2 stops. It comes equipped with an internal fan, which aids in cooling electronics and the user replaceable plug-in flashtube.
Fan cooling extends the power handling capacity of this lamphead to 1500 watt/seconds. Without the fan in use, the power limit is 1000 watt/seconds. This head also gives the photographer the option of using different reflectors. This head is better for photographers who want more control over their light than what can be achieved with the other lampheads in the Novatron line of quality flash equipment. A power supply for this flash head is required.
Mount a lighting fixture close to the floor, or table with this 3' Novatron Back Light Stand. For added versatility, use it with the extension pole to achieve a maximum height of 31 inches.
The Novatron 5010T Medium Duty Light Stand rises to a maximum height of 10', with an all-aluminum construction that provides durability to its tubular extensions and legs. It folds down to a compact package, making it ideal for on location work.
Ideal for head and shoulders portraits and small groups, the 43" White Translucent Umbrella from Novatron is a medium-sized light modifier that softens and disperses the light. Use it in the traditional bounce mode or aim the convex side at the subject and pump the light through as you would a softbox.
