The PCH-4n from Zoom is a water-resistant protective case for the Zoom H4n Handy Recorder – sold separately – that provides access to all controls and features. It can be used to keep your device clean and dry while allowing you to visually monitor your recordings.

Just pull the window back to make adjustments. The case's rigid top & bottom provide support and protection, while the touch-tab fastener strips on the top, bottom, and sides allow for easy access to all controls.

Additionally, the removable microphone cover keeps the built-in mic elements protected when not in use, and the belt loop, boom pole sleeve, and key ring allow for additional mounting options.

PCH-4n Protective Case for Zoom H4n Handy Recorder is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's what I needed for my Zoom H4n At first I explored all zoom pouches to see whether I needed it. I came across this one and at first didn't see the purpose of covering the whole recorder. But did research on this product and it what exactly what I needed and more!! Just bought it and tested it out and to my surprise fits well with my field tests and on jobs. I'll be reviewing this more in the future to see its long term endurance. Cost effiecient, put it on the belt or attach to the boom pole, and weather proof. Hope this helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have been waiting for an OEM case for years. Fits on the H4n perfect and the top part has enough room to keep the dead cat windscreen on. Each side has a velcro panel that can be opened to access any needed port or button.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Really only necessary if you will be recording outdoors. Just got the recorder, case, etc., and found that the recorder came with a snap-tight rigid clear plastic case, which is mostly what I need to protect it indoors, as I don't intend to do field recordings primarily. The soft case gives quicker access plus protection while you are recording, but a remote control takes care of most of the reasons to access the body of the recorder while recording. (You wouldn't be plugging in extra mics while recording). I found it unclear how the velcro strips are supposed to be used for the mic hood--and the pull-tab was poorly sewed onto the hood, so it tore loose after one use--sloppy stitching? Note, you cannot screw the recorder into a tripod with the case on, so it's only good field protection using the velcro cuff to hold on to a mic boom, or some other way to use the strap-grip or the hard plastic circular clip on the case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good This is pretty good. The bottom cover doesn't allow for super easy access to the 1/2 XLR channels, but one can make due. Protects the entire recorder and will hopefully help it last a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchased as a dust cover on my H4n Pro As my primary use for the H4n Pro is for stationary recording, I have it mounted to a microphone stand for most of the time. The back part of the case velcros shut and as such can be used as an impromptu field stand. It also opens up far enough for any mounting shoe and allows for access to the rear 3.5mm input. If you're powering it via the AD-14A/D AC adapter and use both of the XLR inputs, there's a bottom strap that will obscure either the power jack or an XLR input. I *think* that it should allow for both XLR inputs, the 3.5mm input, and the power jack to be used at the same time, but it would be ideal if a stretchable material could be used in future production runs so as to reduce pressure and ease use of a straight plug. As I'm not likely to use both XLR inputs, I haven't researched a right-angle power adapter to use in its place. The mini-USB connection is hooked to my computer via a StarTechType-A Male to Left-Angle Mini-B (Model: USB2HABM6LA | B&H product #STUSB2ABM6LA) so as to allow for that side panel to remain velcroed shut and allow for the cable to run down the side. This is NOT the same as the Right-Angle version, so remain aware. All in all, this is a good purchase for owners of the H4n Pro and I can't wait to use it outside come summer. :)
