Hi Bryan, This button switches the display between the EVF and Monitor. If you've disabled automatic switching using the Eye-Start sensor, you can manually toggle between the two displays with this button.

I have a DSLR SALT-68 camera, I am interested to buy a Full frame SONY camera, are my lenses compatible to the full frame ? and what kind of converter do I need
It depends on both the camera and the lens. The A68 has an APS-C sensor and can be used with either A-mount full frame or APS-C lenses. The A99, though, can only be used with lenses designed for full frame sensors. All of the mirrorless Sony A7 series and A9 cameras have a different mount, the E-mount, and in all cases, A-mount lenses can not be used with mirrorless cameras without an accessory adapter.
