question

What is the CRI of this light?
Asked by: Anonymous
Not perfect. Mine casts a very slight magenta cast. It’s not noticeable until used with other lights at the same time

Does anyone had issues with the battery mount in ...

Does anyone had issues with the battery mount in the back? 2 weeks ago I've taking it to do some ENG and for some reason the contact seems to be off and I had to wiggle the battery in the mount. Now, writting those lines the contacts seems OK after wiggleling the battery. I've been using the battery that came with and some Sony NP-F970 batteries for longer shoot. I've also tried this issue with the DC input and it works fine.

question

Can or does this replace the traditional flash? Seems like it could.
Asked by: John O.
John, In a word no, because this light provides a very different effect than a traditional on-camera flash. Best to do an in store test to see the difference. Peter

question

ARE THE BARN DOORS REMOVABLE?
Asked by: Anonymous
I own this light, it has been a very good performer. I'm very pleased with the quality of light especially the warm white. I'm looking at the light as I am typing this, it looks to me as if the barn doors could be removed without effecting the structural integrity of the light. There are several small screws that hold a frame that holds the barn doors to the light. Also, the barn door hinges are attached to the frame with small screws. It looks as if these could also be removed leaving the frame intact. I'm not sure why anyone would want to take the barn doors off. I have used this light on numerous occasions and the barn doors have never gotten in the way. Best of luck.

question

This kit came with a diffuser insert. Does B&H sell other inserts? I'd like to cut the light output a bit more even at 10%
Asked by: George F.
I'm not sure off hand... if not you could always buy some diffusion gels and tape them to the barn doors.
