Fenix updated their E15 LED Flashlight for 2016 with increased outputs over the previous version while maintaining the intuitive switching system and compact form factor. It has four outputs with a low of just 8 lumens for reading or performing tasks, and goes up to a blinding 450 lumens on one RCR123 rechargeable battery for searching or lighting large areas. If you use a disposable CR123 lithium battery, all outputs remain the same but with different runtimes, and a lower turbo output of 270 lumens. The light is activated and the outputs change with a simple one-handed turn of the head.
Complementing the powerful performance is a lightweight and durable aluminum housing that is finished with a scratch and corrosion-resistant anodized finish. The housing is O-ring sealed to an IPX8 rating making it waterproof and submersible to over 6.5 feet. Multiple safety circuits are in-place to protect the light from damage caused by incorrectly installed batteries or excessive heat. Additional circuitry detects the battery chemistry being used and adjusts the performance accordingly to maximize the battery life while digitally maintaining the output to provide consistent beam intensity throughout the life of the battery charge.
