I bought it for my niece. She's using it right now but I have seen any videos from it. She did said the zoom was really good, but I don't know if it is x1140.

question
Can the on screen overlays be turned off for video out via HDMI?(dont need the viewers to see the volume meter and what not).
Hi Gene, yes when connected to a television or a laptop or the sling studio it gives a clean hdmi out with no on screen info. Basically a live viewer. Perfect for live broadcasting etc.

question
I need to record 1 - 2 hour training sessions in a small conference room (12-15 people). The room does not have windows so not very bright. Will I need to attach a microphone? Trainer will be about 10 or 12 ft from the camera.
Time shouldn't be an issue depending on the size of your memory card. If the room is quiet aside from the speaker, the sound should be okay but you do have the option to attach a mic if preferred.

question
What is the framerate of the HDMI port of this camera? Hoping to stream the video output via a capture device like the Hauppauge HD PVR 60 or AverMedia Live Gamer HD cards. (If not this one, can someone recommend a camcorder that does?)
The frame rate via HDMI out will be 60fps.

question
Is there a way to add an extra light. I used to record church today and in low light areas the video was extremely dark. Thank in advance
You can buy an L shaped bracket on which you can mount your camera as well as your light. As long as it is a small LED light with a shoe on it, you are good to go.
