Nitecore MH41 overview

  • 1Description

Nitecore designed and built their MH41 Rechargeable LED Flashlight with the powerful and energy-efficient Cree XHP50 LED to produce a light with impressive runtimes and a wide output range. Designed with a micro-textured 'orange peel' reflector that produces a wide smooth beam without holes or hotspots, this light is ideal for a variety of military, law enforcement, and outdoor uses. It has five primary outputs from a task-orientated 1-lumen minimum to a blinding, darkness-piercing 2150-lumen Turbo mode. An intelligent two-stage tactical pushbutton tailcap switch allows you to cycle through to your desired output intensity, including a disorientating strobe, an SOS emergency signal, and location beacon. Users also have instant-access to both the minimum and Turbo outputs to eliminate the need to cycle through all intensities in high-stress situations or for ease-of-use.

The aluminum housing is built for the rigors of daily use with a stainless steel retaining ring to protect the head and emitter lens from impacts and drops, and a scratch and corrosion-resistant hard-anodized finish. It is also impact-resistant to 5 feet, and IPX8-rated to be submersible to a depth of up to 6.6 feet for up to 30 minutes. Use the light with the included removable tactical ring that installs on the handle to help users securely hold their light and pistol in various tactical grip techniques. A charging adapter and two li-ion rechargeable 18650 batteries are included, but the light's circuitry enables it to also run on disposable batteries. An integrated charging port charges the batteries in the light, and a port cover prevents dust and water from getting into it while preserving its IP rating.

    Nitecore MH41 reviews

MH41 Rechargeable LED Flashlight is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, Powerful, Heavy I purchased the MH41 to use as a safety device while I run. Since I run at a very early (before sunrise) time in the morning and on a road shoulder, I need reflective clothing and a good illumination and signaling device to let drivers know where I am. This light functions very well for that purpose, but it is heavy. The turbo mode is extremely bright and overall the flashlight illuminates a long way off and has an efficient spread of white light from central to edge. I don't do Search and Rescue, but I would expect that it would be useful for that purpose, since it has a signaling mode, beacon mode and the necessary brightness to light a good area of territory. The flashlight comes with two rechargeable (in the light) 18650 Nitecore Li-Ion batteries, charger, lanyard, spare tail cap, etc., so it is a good value for the price. It is also waterproof, so you can use it in the rain. I can comment on the use of this flashlight for Law Enforcement also. While it would be useful as a general-purpose flashlight, as well as a self-defense, non-lethal weapon, it is too large and heavy to carry on a duty belt. It would probably best be left on the right front seat of a cruiser during rounds. For searching indoor and outdoor areas, it is very effective, due to its versatility and throw, so it's more of a general-purpose light. The light is so bright, however, that it will probably blind anyone who looks directly into it while on turbo mode, so each agency will have to determine policy if it's to be used for non-lethal defense. The only problem I have with the light, other than its weight, is that warranty service is done in China and the light has to be sent to B&H for them to forward it to the manufacturer for warranty service. That takes lots of time, so I figure that two to three months to get the light back is realistic.
