  • 1Description

Capture vibrant images and video of sting rays, parrot fish, and coral at up to 200' beneath the surface with this Ikelite Underwater Housing and Nikon COOLPIX S7000 Digital Camera Kit from B&H Photo. The package bundles the #6282.70 waterproof enclosure with the compact point-and-shoot to get you started on your adventures under the sea.

The housing allows the camera's flash to trigger an optional, external AF35 AutoFlash strobe as a wireless slave, replicating TTL exposure. As an alternative, two fiber-optic ports are provided for connecting optional cables. The housing also includes a diffuser to soften your built-in flash and a deflector to redirect the light towards an external strobe. Built for durability, the housing is designed, constructed by hand, and tested in the USA. A corrosion-resistant, clear polycarbonate body offers a full view of the camera and allows you to monitor the O-ring seal. Large, ergonomic mechanical controls provide access to all camera functions. Additionally, a built-in, flat glass lens port with a 3.9" diameter accepts optional color-correction filters and external accessory lenses.

Nikon's COOLPIX S7000 camera features a 16MP, 1/2.3" CMOS image sensor for high-resolution imagery, 9.2-fps continuous shooting, low-light sensitivity up to ISO 6400, and full HD 1080p video recording at 30 fps. The NIKKOR zoom lens has a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 25-500mm, covering wide-angle to long telephoto perspectives. The camera is also equipped with a large 3.0", 460k-dot LCD monitor that has an anti-reflective coating and 5-level brightness adjustment. Benefit from 18 scene modes, including Beach, Snow, and Sunset, to give your images extra creative touches. Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity pair with Nikon snapbridge, allowing you to send images easily from the S7000 to your compatible smart device and then share them on your favorite social media sites.

  • Ikelite Underwater Housing for Nikon COOLPIX S7000

Capture vibrant images and video of sting rays, parrot fish, and coral at 200' beneath the surface with your Nikon COOLPIX S7000 camera in this Ikelite Underwater Housing.

External lighting is more powerful than your camera's built-in flash, but your flash can be used to trigger an optional, external AF35 AutoFlash strobe as a wireless slave, replicating TTL exposure. As an alternative, two fiber-optic ports are provided for connecting optional cables. The housing also includes a diffuser to soften your built-in flash and a deflector to redirect the light towards an external strobe. This added lighting will provide greater color accuracy and vibrancy, and it can be placed in a position to virtually eliminate backscatter, glare, and hard shadows.

Built for durability, the housing is designed, constructed by hand, and tested in the USA. A corrosion-resistant, clear polycarbonate body offers a full view of the camera, allowing you to monitor the O-ring seal to ensure correct waterproof installation. Large, ergonomic mechanical controls provide access to all camera functions. The camera mounting plate features a 12-24 thread tray with 3" spacing.

The housing's built-in, flat glass lens port has a 3.9" diameter. Since light is absorbed very quickly as it passes through water, optional color-correction filters can be added to enhance colors below the surface. The port also accepts optional external lenses, to allow an increased field of view or extreme close-up shots with better clarity and detail, respectively.

For close-ups, use Ikelite's optional external macro adapter 9306.82 with optional 67mm threaded macro lenses from Inon and Epoque. Wide-angle coverage requires Ikelite's optional WD-4 wide-angle conversion dome 6430.4. Approximately three-fourths of the camera's zoom range can be used with the dome in place; however, slight vignetting may occur at the camera's widest angle setting. This effect can be eliminated by zooming in slightly or cropping the image in post processing. Other wide angle conversion or accessory lenses cannot be used with this housing.

    Construction Details
    • Depth Rating: 200'
    • Drop-in loading enables quick and easy camera installation and setup
    • Simply close side latch and see o-ring form a solid watertight seal
    • Manufactured from durable, corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, which is clear to allow you to monitor o-ring seal and maintain full view of camera
    • Designed, constructed by hand, and tested in the USA
    Controls, Handling, and Operation
    • Large, ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons, and a knurled dial, provide access to all camera functions
    • 12-24 thread tray mounting with 3" (76mm) spacing
    • Optional tray with single or dual handles improves balance and control while giving you attachment point(s) for optional lighting arm(s)
    Lens Port
    • Built-in, flat glass lens port has a 3.9" diameter
    • Accepts optional external wide-angle and macro add-on lenses, to allow an increased field of view or extreme close-up shots with better clarity and detail, respectively
    • Both types of lenses will enable you to get closer to subjects, cutting down on amount of water between you and them to reduce distortion
    • You can also add optional color-correction filters for blue and green water to restore colors that get absorbed below the surface
    Flash Use
    • You can add an optional AF35 AutoFlash strobe, which features a flex arm and mounts onto the grip handle of an optional tray
    • This external strobe is triggered as a wireless slave by firing the camera's built-in flash, replicating TTL exposure
    • As an alternative, two ports are provided for connection of Ikelite, Sea & Sea, or Olympus-type fiber-optic cables
    • Housing includes a diffuser to soften the light of the camera's built-in flash and a deflector to redirect it towards an external strobe
    • Since built-in flash is generally only effective within very short distance from subject, use of a more powerful external strobe is highly recommended
    • External strobe will provide greater illumination, color accuracy, and vibrancy, and can be placed in a position to virtually eliminate backscatter, glare, and hard shadows

  • Nikon COOLPIX S7000 Digital Camera

The COOLPIX S7000 Digital Camera from Nikon features a 16MP 1/2.3" CMOS image sensor to capture high-resolution imagery and full HD 1080p video at 30 fps. It has a 20x optical zoom lens with a 35mm equivalent focal range of 25-500mm. For even further zooming, a 40x Dynamic Fine Zoom feature effectively doubles your reach. Vibration Reduction helps to reduce the appearance of camera shake when shooting at the long end of the zoom range.

Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity pair with Nikon snapbridge, allowing you to easily send images from the S7000 to your compatible smart device, and from there share on your favorite social media sites.

With the COOLPIX S7000, Target Finding AF instantly and accurately determines your intended subject and focuses on it, not on just whatever is closest to the camera. Catch the shot you want on the first try. No more out of focus shots or the frustration of trying to get the camera to focus on the right thing.
    Full HD 1080i60 Video
4-axis Hybrid Vibration Reduction helps you shoot stable, smooth videos without a tripod, and a built-in microphone captures stereo sound. You can also apply creative effects, combine short video clips into a 30-second montage, and create time-lapse movies right in the camera.
