I use these in a church. They are the best designed toughest stands out there. A little heavy, but everything is made of metal, so that weight is to be expected.

What is the stand and telescoping boom made of?

The boom is made from solid core iron, the base is cast, and the vertical pole looks like iron, too, although Tama does not specify. https://www.tama.com/usa/products/detail/ms756lbk.html
