Acer XB271HU overview

  • 1Description

Take your game to the next level with the Predator XB1 XB271HU bmiprz 27" 16:9 IPS Monitor from Acer as it features both NVIDIA G-Sync and NVIDIA Ultra Low Motion Blur technologies. With G-Sync technology the monitor adapts to the settings of your graphics card for a more fluid gaming experience while the Ultra Low Motion Blur technology greatly reduces blur in fast moving games such as racing simulators. To assist in the enhanced gaming experience Acer has also ensured this monitor covers the entire sRGB color space to provide accurate color representation. Once configured, the long gaming sessions begin which can take a toll on the eyes. As a result, this XB1 series monitor comes equipped with flicker-less technology to virtually eliminate screen flicker and a blue-light filter to reduce the harmful effects caused by blue light exposure.

The Predator XB1 from Acer features a WQHD 2560 x 1440 resolution offering four times the resolution of 720p HD for a crisp clear picture. The IPS display also supports a 4 ms response time to reduce ghosting when gaming or viewing videos and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio to provide deeper dark and brighter bright colors. On the back of the monitor you will find a single HDMI connector and USB port as well as two speakers to provide an immersive multimedia experience. Once configured, the display can be adjusted up and down, up to 5", for maximum viewing comfort.

    Acer XB271HU reviews

    Predator XB1 XB271HU bmiprz 27" 16:9 IPS Monitor is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would buy this Product Again I use this monitor for about everything: gaming, editing and everyday workflow. I was afraid to purchase due to possible IPS Glow/Bleed issues, but I took the risk and am very satisfied with my purchase. The screen has very little to no bleed and the IPS glow is almost non-visible. It's a lottery when it comes to IPS Technology. The only Cons, in my opinion: 1) Screen can wiggle a little bit, be-sure to have a rock solid desk. 2) The OSD is horrible, but with practice you'll get used to it quickly. 3) Packaging (not talking about marketing material) 4) No Screen Protection out-side of the box! The Pros: 1) Speaker (not great, but it has one.) 2) 3-axis adjustment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrific pros, Terrible cons This monitor is tough to review because it is a fantastic monitor plagued by poor quality control. I received a monitor manufactured in February of 2016. It was pretty easy to set up and since I was upgrading from a 5 year old 1080p monitor I was immediately stunned by the quality in picture. The colors seemed very well calibrated right out of the box and after some time awkwardly navigating the OSD and changing settings in the Nvidia software I had it set to an overclocked 165hz with gsync on. My system has a 980ti and an i5 6600K and gameplay was crisp and noticeably smoother. Unfortunately my monitor suffered from some terrible orange/yellow glow coming from the bottom right corner. Even with the brightness turned down to 40% the discoloration of the glow was visible during the daylight and was very distracting. I've only returned a couple of products in my lifetime but I had to return this monitor because I found it to be an unacceptable issue at this price and some research online shows that it is an ongoing issue with these monitors. At the end of the day a premium product (which I believe a monitor at this price point is) should not suffer from these problems and I feel bad for retailers like B&H that have to deal with the returns. At this price a monitor should pretty much be perfect and until Acer can deliver a monitor that is much more consistent in quality (defect-free) I don't believe it is worth the return process and gamble of buying it. Fortunately B&H has fantastic customer service and the made the process of returning it simple and easy, securing my future business.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome display for editing and gaming After 49 years I finally built my first PC and wanted a great display to take advantage of the 1080 GPU. Granted this was a little more money than I wanted to spend but that's what tax refunds are for! Looks fantastic, color is great, G-SYNC for gaming. I use the box mainly for Photoshop, Cinema4D, After Effects and Overwatch :-) If you don't do any gaming you can probably afford a cheaper hires display without GSYNC but for me it was important to take advantage of my new PC build. I guess if you don't mind spending the cash you can't go wrong. I have no regrets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best 1440p gaming monitor on the market today Great gaming monitor! Purchased this to go along with my two new GPUs and I could not be happier! No screen tearing or ghosting of any kind. I know some folks had a few issues with dead pixels or backlight bleed, but I have had none of that. If you are a serious gamer, GO WITH G-SYNC!!! I know, you're probably thinking I don't need that, I'll just get something a little cheaper. You're wrong. I tried that (three other monitors) and was unhappy with the performance, until I bought this monitor. The IPS display, 144hz refresh rate, 27 screen size, 1440p... you won't find a better monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would recommend this product for all gamers in the world ! Amazing screen ! Size, shape , tech , material, design, all combined togather to make this perfect item and to give you the best visual gaming experience ! I guess whatever a rig specs is built on, it is nothing without a perfect visual output.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong, Safe choice for years to come. My friend initially recommended this to me. After an extensive research, I have found this monitor to be a more stable option then it's ASUS counter part (I have both). The monitor is 144hz overclockable to 165hz which makes a difference if you're an avid gamer who cares about (smooth silky gameplay). be warned however some games may not handle frames beyond 60fps which will substantially break their physics and induce bugs. 2560 x 1440 is glorious especially in RTS/FPS games. Image and color quality is nice (needs time to set-up correctly) Viewing angles are great thanks to IPS. G-sync. No dead pixels found. Bleed is minimal even with full brightness. and a lot of other great features also... What can I say, truly a wonderful monitor, would recommend this to anyone considering a gaming monitor that will live on for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding IPS G-Sync 144hz monitor I bought this monitor after much stress trying to decide between it and the Asus ROG PG279Q. All the negative reviews over back light bleed on both this Acer and the Asus model had me pretty worried, but people seemed to have somewhat better luck with the Acer. I can happily report mine arrived with no dead pixels, no dust trapped in the screen, and ZERO back light bleed. I was prepared to live with minor bleed in the corners, but there is seriously none at all on the panel I received. Manufacture date on mine is March 2016 for those interested. The colors compared to my old TN panel are ridiculously better, and the 144hz G-Sync refresh is buttery smooth. I don't think I can ever go back to 60hz or TN again after seeing things on this one. You'll want to calibrate the color settings to your liking, I found the color temperature too warm straight out of the box. There are plenty of suggestions out there on forums to help you out though, and once I got done things looked flawless. Hats off to Acer on this one, and to B&H for their fantastic support and fast shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast Refresh, Great Color, Amazing Contrast I have nothing bad to say about this monitor other than the wonky UI for the menus on the Setup OSD. Thing is, once you have it set up, you never need to touch them again, so it isn't too much of a pain. Monitor arrived with no dead or stuck pixels, no high-pitched capacitor whine, and the display looks amazing and responds quickly. It is everything I need in a monitor. Now they just need to make ones like this, larger. Their 34 was too much of a sacrifice in refresh and contrast.
