FXpansion FXTRM001 Overview

Tremor from FXpansion is a software drum machine with a polyrhythmic pattern sequencer, intuitive modulation, DCAM circuit-modeled synthesis and authentic old-school analog punch. Tremor's dance drums, beatscapes, abstract machines, and sonic terrain are suited to all kinds of electronic, urban, and experimental music.

Eight synthesis engines each contain a DCAM-modeled percussion oscillator with harmonic partials that mimic a drumskin's modes of vibration. The oscillator is mixed with a sub-oscillator and tuned noise source before being processed by modeled drive, filter, and effects sections, and then envelopes. Sounds include classic kicks, snares, claps, organic hats, and deep subs, alongside zaps, scrapes, textures, and various other sounds.

Eight-partial oscillator is designed to produce a huge range of electronic percussion sounds, from x0x-esque beats to futuristic machines
The spacing, emphasis, and roll-off of partials can be modulated for effects that mimic real-world physics with the sonic character of DCAM analog-modeled synthesizer circuits
The TransMod modulation system is easier and deeper than a mod-matrix, offering new sound design possibilities and allowing for animating synthesis and FX parameters with LFOs, step-automation sequences, real-time macro controls, and more
The sequencer features twenty-four patterns with each containing a track for the eight synthesis engines
Tracks can feature different numbers of steps for evolving polyrhythms and exploration of new percussive territory
Each step in each track features velocity and probability, while the timing of each engine can also be multiplied or divided
Assignable graphs feature parameter sequencing that is fed into the TransMod modulation system
Each synthesizer engine provides repeat triggering, audio-rate FM, multiple drive stages, and tuned noise with modulated band-pass filtering
The resonant filter self-oscillates for classic kicks, blips, and zaps and the range of responses provides a wide variety of timbres
Filtering, compression, distortion, delay, frequency-shifting, granular freezing, and more can be applied and TransMod-modulated in the three-slot effects section
