Lightware Flip Lid Cargo Case Overview

The Lightware C6050 50" Flip Lid Cargo Case is designed to carry durable equipment such as stands, tripods, booms, umbrellas and power cables. It also will carry portable light banks, head extension cables, clips, tape, tools, grids, barn doors, filters and reflectors. The flip lid will stay open so you can easily load and unload your gear without the lid getting in the way. The Flip Lid case has interior tie down straps to secure the equipment.

I really like the way the lid on this case opens. Pushing it back, the lid snaps back to stay open, allowing unrestricted access. I'm using it for a Gitzo Series 3 tripod and Arca Swiss Leveler head. The straps inside the case keep the tripod secure. I have plenty of room to store a darkcloth, additional tripod heads, and other other gear. The case has handles on each end, plus a central carrying handle, so it's comfortable to carry many different ways. I don't use the accessory strap. It fits my needs well. If I was carrying my tripod any distance I would use something more compact like the Lightware Sling Bag.

Does anyone know how to label these bags? I have many of them and I want them labelled for the right gear. Tags tend to rip off or break the strap. Tape tends to peel off.

The only way to label them is to use a tag. I would recommend using a tag with a steel wire so that it doesn't rip.

How close to 38" is the interior? I'd like to use ...

How close to 38" is the interior? I'd like to use for a light kit that has a 38.5" soft box frame (collapsed) that has to fit inside.

This case has interior dimensions of 38.0 inches, it is just a bit too small to handle a 38.5 inch frame. The next size up from Lightware is the C6050 Flip Lid Cargo Case (Black), B&H # LIC6050, which has an interior dimension of 50 inches. https://bhpho.to/2ebhlC8

Does the bottom of this case have skids or feet? Is it the same exterior material on the bottom?

The Case exterior material is Nylon, unfortunately there are no Skids or feet on the Lightware C6037 Flip Lid and Cargo Case.

How many c-stands could fit in here?

The turtle base C-stands will fit with the base removed, but not the non-detatchable base stands. I have three in my Lightware C6050 case. You could likely fit 5-6, however weight will be an issue. I limited my case to 3 C-stands so that my assistants don't break their backs lifting the cases.
