Garmin 010-01338-73 overview

  • 1Description

Up your game with the fenix 3 HR from Garmin. This fitness watch was designed with multi-sport athletes in mind and records data useful to runners, cyclists, swimmers, climbers, hikers, skiers, paddlers, and more. It also features Elevate wrist heart rate monitoring, which enables you to track your heart rate data without having to wear a chest strap as well as more accurately calculate your calories burned and monitor fitness intensity. For enhanced location and distance accuracy, the fenix 3 HR is equipped with an omni-directional stainless steel EXO antenna with GPS and GLONASS reception. Additionally, this bundle includes the HRM-Run, which enables you to track and record even more heart data and fitness metrics.

The fenix 3 connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth Smart, allowing it to transfer its stored data to the phone and to receive notifications, text messages, and emails while on the go. It also functions as an activity tracker, silently logging your steps and encouraging you to get moving after an extended period of inactivity. When it's time to rest after a long day of exercise, your fenix 3 will monitor your sleep and record periods of restful sleep or movement.

GPS and GLONASS
Your fenix 3 HR uses a stainless-steel EXO antenna, unobtrusively integrated into the bezel, to receive signals from GPS and GLONASS satellites. It uses this data to create a track log, using a "breadcrumb trail" system of track points and user-entered locations and checkpoints so you can always find your way.
Altimeter, Barometer, and Compass
The fenix 3 HR has built-in altimeter, barometer, and compass (ABC) sensors to provide real-time information while out and about. The altimeter provides elevation data to accurately monitor ascent and descent, while the barometer can be used to predict weather changes by showing short-term trends in air pressure. The 3-axis electronic compass keeps your bearing whether or not you're in motion. Calibration is taken care of automatically via GPS, and the watch sets the time based on location.

Running and Cycling

Cycling Features
When used with the optional Vector cycle power meter, the fenix 3 records your pedaling power, speed, and cadence. It also stores multiple bicycle profiles.
Advanced Running Dynamics and Physiological Metrics
When used with the included Garmin HRM-Run monitor, the fenix 3 can record your cadence, vertical oscillation and ground contact time so you can safely increase your running economy. Additionally, it can calculate your V02 maximum, which is the maximum approximate volume of oxygen you can consume per minute.

    Garmin 010-01338-73 reviews

fenix 3 HR Performer Bundle (Slate Gray, Black Band is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built Like A Tank Just received my Garmin Fenix 3 HR bundle today and this is built like a tank! Paired it to my iPhone 6 in less than 30 seconds and the menu options are easy to follow. I pre-ordered this back on January 30th and I am so excited to put it to the test. I bought the combo kit because its a much better value. I will use the chest strap for my weight workouts and my longer runs. The packaging from Garmin reminds me of Apple. Very professional and well protected. Highly recommended if you want a serious all-around workout device and great looking watch! I have used a Forerunner 305 for over 7 years and it has never failed. Hopefully the Fenix 3 HR will live up to the Garmin reputation!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent fitness watch that serves as an every day wear Pros: The watch is very stylish and easy to use. I have used it for running and walking so far. The GPS is accurate and functional as I have grown to expect from Garmin. The sapphire bezel is very nice and durable. the thing that has impressed me so far is the battery life. 9-10 days easily where as my apple watch that didn't have near the fitness capability had to be charged daily/nightly. I do use it as a daily wear. Cons: The only thing I can think of is that as a smart watch - I haven't figured out yet how or if it is possible to reply to texts on the watch. I would buy it again without reservation at this time. I have owned it for about 1 month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best friend for training I did a lot of research before buying the Fenix 3HR; I knew already about its capabilities and functions; but let me start by the beginning: the packaging is nice, sleek, elegant, you open the box and find your watch, a big watch; there is a separate space for the charger, the documents and the chest strap (I bought the bundle); setting it up is a breeze, get your strap on and go to run! at first is difficult to figure out what goes where as all functions are controlled by buttons but once you get to ficcle with it, you'll find everything; thre are many apps and widgets that you don't use but you can turn them off using the app; good as a multisport watch, missing the weight training native app (bummer. They should work on easier and broader assignments for what they call 'hot keys'.. very limited fundtions can be assigned to them; in general, is a fantastic multisport fitness tracker with 24 hours registry of activities and rest, that can be used by any athletes of any level and that provides youo with vital information to improve your training and fitness; this watch is just WOW!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Who buy the 5X when you can get the 3 HR on sale Extremely happy with this watch. In the typical week I use the watch to track four strength training sessions, three 5 to 9 mile runs and two 60 minute spin classes all on a single battery charge. The watch has so many features. My favorite is the Live Tracking which allows a friend or family member to check in on you as you run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Took a while to decide to spend this amount of money... And it is definitely worth it. A little bit of a learning curve, even coming from another Garmin watch (Forerunner 220). I am still just scratching the surface of its full potential. I am a very active person but this watch makes me that much more efficient with my workouts. The HRM bundle was something I originally thought was an unnecessary luxury, but for around $40 more, I figured it was worth the price. I was blown away. It maps out not only your HR, but cadence, stride, left-right foot biases, etc. With the app, you can calculate calories, level of activity, etc. You can even download different watch faces. It does it all. I am now thinking on investing in the swimming HRM. While the price is very steep, with the sale, I think is worth the investment. I also have small wrists. I was concerned such a large watch would be odd for my tastes, but it actually does not look bad at all. Only downside is having a relatively big watch has made my wrist a little bruised and sore from running and swimming with it. I may have not tightened it enough during those activities, but I am sure my wrists will adapt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I'm really enjoying this watch so far. The battery lasts most of the week and it seems very durable so far. It felt very large on my wrist at first but I have gotten used to it. The activity racking works really well while you are actually doing an activity. For instance I can track my disc golf so I know that I usually get the heart rates that I'm shooting for (130-145 ish) and get about 35 floors climbed at about 2 mph for 2.5mi. All that works perfectly. My only real complaint is the wrist heart rate monitor. It seems to work ok during walking/running/hiking, basically anything where your arms are mostly hanging at your sides. The problem comes when I am driving. I get as much as 3000 steps and 8 intensity hours a night while I drive my truck! I drive a semi and the combination of a rough ride and constant back and forth of the steering wheel trick the device apparently. I also notice the heart rate reads 2-2.5 times as high as it actually is(checked manually by timing my pulse at my neck) when my arm is propped on the armrest or holding the steering wheel - both at or above chest height. The same issues arise when doing strength training where arms are again at or above chest height. I think this is a great outdoor watch overall. I recommend getting the chest strap if an accurate heart rate is important to you. You may even want to consider the Fenix 3 sapphire which has everything except the wrist heart rate feature and costs as much as $200 less when packaged with the chest strap depending on where you buy it. I hope this is helpful. Good luck.
