Up your game with the fenix 3 HR from Garmin. This fitness watch was designed with multi-sport athletes in mind and records data useful to runners, cyclists, swimmers, climbers, hikers, skiers, paddlers, and more. It also features Elevate wrist heart rate monitoring, which enables you to track your heart rate data without having to wear a chest strap as well as more accurately calculate your calories burned and monitor fitness intensity. For enhanced location and distance accuracy, the fenix 3 HR is equipped with an omni-directional stainless steel EXO antenna with GPS and GLONASS reception.

The fenix 3 connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth Smart, allowing it to transfer its stored data to the phone and to receive notifications, text messages, and emails while on the go. It also functions as an activity tracker, silently logging your steps and encouraging you to get moving after an extended period of inactivity. When it's time to rest after a long day of exercise, your fenix 3 will monitor your sleep and record periods of restful sleep or movement.

Your fenix 3 HR uses a stainless-steel EXO antenna, unobtrusively integrated into the bezel, to receive signals from GPS and GLONASS satellites. It uses this data to create a track log, using a "breadcrumb trail" system of track points and user-entered locations and checkpoints so you can always find your way.
Altimeter, Barometer, and Compass
The fenix 3 HR has built-in altimeter, barometer, and compass (ABC) sensors to provide real-time information while out and about. The altimeter provides elevation data to accurately monitor ascent and descent, while the barometer can be used to predict weather changes by showing short-term trends in air pressure. The 3-axis electronic compass keeps your bearing whether or not you're in motion. Calibration is taken care of automatically via GPS, and the watch sets the time based on location.

Running and Cycling

Cycling Features
When used with the optional Vector cycle power meter, the fenix 3 records your pedaling power, speed, and cadence. It also stores multiple bicycle profiles.
Advanced Running Dynamics and Physiological Metrics
When used with an optional Garmin HRM-Run monitor, the fenix 3 can record your cadence, vertical oscillation and ground contact time so you can safely increase your running economy. Additionally, it can calculate your V02 maximum, which is the maximum approximate volume of oxygen you can consume per minute.

This mode records and displays your speed, distance, and more while on the slopes. An automatic run counter and lift line auto-pause let you keep track of your entire day.

fenix 3 HR Multi-Sport Training GPS Watch (Slate Gray, Black Band is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It?s a keeper What I?m most happy about this pricy baby is that now I could stop searching. Had wasted too much time and money on several other cheaper models. The F3HR is great for running and the built-in HR works well for me. The battery could last a week with +90mins run and daily wear. It fits large so not good for small and not too good for medium wrists. Noticed that the auto sync sometimes had issues and had to reboot the phone, not sure if it?s a phone issue. Would like it to be a little thinner but that would make the battery life shorter. It?s not w/o faults so I?m close to 90% happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best sport watch ever I upgraded my sport watch from the Garmin 910xt to the Fenix 3 hr. Now I can wear it as an everyday watch. I can also use it swimming, biking or running or in triathlon to keep track of time, speed, distance etc. it is very intuitive to use although it has such great capabilities I have not tapped all of them to date. My friends remark on how big the watch face is. It can however be customized in many ways. It does not have to be charged for a long time especially with Bluetooth shut off. However even with it on getting notifications it should still last for several days. I've had this on my wish list for a year. The integral hr monitor wad the final cherry on the cake. It is complex to use which may be a downside to some users. I doubt that will affect today's generation who already uses an iPhone, iPad and computer. Some say it is bulky but it is after all a computer on your wrist.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great running/multi-sport watch. Used primarily for road and trail running but also swimming, biking, hiking, and general activity tracker. I have been pleased with the performance of the watch on runs. It does struggle a little on trail runs with switchbacks but has been spot on for road running and a recent 15 mile trail run through wooded area. I like the connectivity to my phone as it allows me to see what mail and messages are incoming without pulling out my phone which has been helpful in business meetings. I like the built in HR monitor as it will track fairly closely to actual HR as long as you have the watch tight to your wrist. It also seems to do a fair job in tracking sleep and HR while sleeping which is useful during training to get a sense of overtraining. I also like the running dynamics that are available when paired with a body HRM strap. Battery life seems reasonable but haven't had a chance to utilize for an Ultramarathon yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent watch for multiple activities I primarily use this watch for running but it also does a good job as an activity tracker and the golf app is quite handy for me. I find the wrist based HR monitor to be accurate enough. The battery life is great. It is very well made. It is fairly large but not any bigger or heavier than some of the other quality men's watches on the market. I have had the watch for over a week and it still doesn't even have a scratch on it which is a fairly remarkable feat considering the Fitbit and UA Band that I used to wear were scratched within the first 24 hours of wearing (I am very rough on these things)! I like the ability to use different watch faces from Garmin Connect. The smart watch notifications are surprisingly useful (I definitely did not consider this a valuable feature prior to buying this watch).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch with great features and app support Before the fenix 3HR, I had used the NIKE+ Sportwatch with GPS to track mainly my running, but every now and then also mountain climbing. I liked the NIKE+ webpage and features, yet after 18 month the battery life of the NIKE+ watch declined tremendously and I had constant trouble connecting to the satellite. Mainly due to Mountain climbing I got the fenix 3HR and have had it for a month now - and love the watch ad what it comes with. The app that goes with the watch is great and offers many more features, I love the heart rate measurement on the wrist and the supporting information for training. Battery life is great and outperforms the previous watch by far. The only downside is that the watch is relatively big, but if you don't mind that, it is the watch to go with

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad GPS accuracy I was so excited to finally upgrade my aging 910XT to the Fenix 3 HR. But a couple of runs and one long hike later, I'm returning it. Our 12 mile hike was recorded as 14 miles, and the maps looks like I'm a rabbit jumping all over the terrain. For an expensive flagship watch like the Fenix, I am very disappointed.
