Hawke Sports Optics' green 8x42 Endurance ED Binocular features phase-corrected BAK4 roof prisms, extra low-dispersion (ED) glass, and anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics to produce a versatile and capable optic that produces bright and clear high-contrast images with true color rendition and virtually no color-fringing. Coupled with the optical features are 42mm diameter objectives, which give the binocular very competent low-light performance while maintaining a 388' field of view at 1000 yards and a wide apparent angle of view. This combination of optics and objectives make the Endurance ideally suited for most outdoor activities from hunting, to birding, to sporting events with less noticeable handshake versus more powerful binoculars.

Complementing the optical performance are construction details that make the binocular durable and comfortable to use. The chassis is made from an impact and corrosion-resistant polycarbonate. It is also temperature-resistant, so the optical tubes won't expand and contract with temperature fluctuation, which, over time, can cause the optics to move out of collimation; preventing the binocular from being able to achieve sharp focus. The optical tubes are wrapped with rubber armoring which not only protects them from drops and impacts, it also gives the binocular a slip-resistant grip - especially in cold and wet weather. The optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be water and fogproof - especially in extreme weather conditions. A right-eye diopter adjustment allows the binocular to be customized to most people's needs, and twist-up eyecups means it can be comfortably used with or without eye wear.

8x42 Endurance ED Binocular (Green) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent in its class There are several good choices for binoculars at this price point, and for me it comes down to personal preference. I watch birds. The optics of the Endurance ED are outstanding in all light conditions, and exceptional in low light. The focus wheel is at a low ratio, two whole turns from near to infinity, which is great for getting sharp focus while watching things moving in the trees. Both the focus and the diopter wheels are stiff enough that they are not easily moved by accident. The eye relief is 18mm, which is fine for when I'm wearing glasses. I also like the attached subjective lens covers. Other than that, the body is magnesium, which is heavier than plastic but much more durable, and I think they look cool in green.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hawke Endurance ED 8x42 are a great binocular for the price I am very happy with my Hawke Endurance ED 8x42 binoculars. I use them for birding. I am new to birding and these are the most high end binoculars that I have owned. I realize that relative to all binoculars these are entry level. That is why I bought them, reviews said that they are one of the best entry level binoculars. I would agree. They provide an amazingly clear view. Compared to all the other low level binoculars I've used in my life these binoculars are an incredible improvement. I would highly recommend these binoculars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from for the birds Lots of $200 -300 binocs with same specs (ED etc) and good reviews, these are lowest priced. Also magnesium frame and wide PD range to fit more people, work well. I don't have experience to compare but they're fine. Pull tabs on the case zipper are made out of breakable pot metal. You'd think they'd one most visible metal to be good, but bins are fine. Objective lens covers easily come off, don't lose them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm no expert, but wow. I was tossing up between these and the Vortex Diamondback, I really couldn't decide so just went with these. I have not been able to test them side by side but I could not be happier with these binos. The only real niggle is the neck strap which is a bit tacky and short for me but that's clutching at straws. The quality of the glass and the binos in general is top quality. I can always get another strap. They're not huge, have a solid heft to them and are sharp as a tack. Not an ounce of buyers remorse here.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like them I only used them once, but am impressed with the clarity and mostly the color. A little heavier then I thought but prefer magnesium alloy over plastic. Also I can use them very well with my glasses on. Also the barrel is a nice size where I can hold on to one side steady

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great binoculars! After reading reviews and articles on the best binoculars for money, I purchased these for my husband. They are great for bird watchers, viewing in the National Parks, and wild life viewing. I would highly recommend them.
