Styled in a dark violin sunburst high gloss finish, the Ibanez AEG Series AEG1812II is a full-size 12-string acoustic/electric guitar made from a combination of spruce and sapele. The guitar's large, single-cutaway body delivers a powerful, expansive, and balanced acoustic sound. Unplugged or amplified, the instrument is well suited for solo performance or playing with a full band.
The AEG1812II features a spruce top, sapele back and sides, and an okoume neck with a 21-fret purpleheart fingerboard and chrome die-cast tuners. You'll find a purpleheart bridge affixing strings to the body. The instrument boasts ornmental touches such as a white dot inlay and an abalone soundhole rosette.
For electronics, the guitar is equipped with a Fishman Sonicore pickup and an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp, which includes controls for volume, treble, and bass, along with an onboard tuner. This preamp system gives you both the standard 1/4" output and an XLR jack that obviates the need for a separate DI box.
