Ibanez SR300E overview

  • 1Description

The SR Standard Series SR300E from Ibanez is a modern electric bass featuring a mahogany body in a metallic gray finish. Its bolt-on SR 5-piece maple/walnut neck is fitted with a 24-fret jatoba fingerboard which has white dot inlays. The solid double-cutaway body delivers maximum resonance and sustain, while the SR neck is smooth and fast, providing unlimited playability for the most demanding player.

The PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups provide a tone rich in harmonic detail and dynamic expression. A 3-way power tap selector switch allows you to choose between a variety of humbucking and single-coil settings, while the 3-band active EQ provides boost and cut over the treble, mid, and bass frequencies. Volume and balance controls can be used to further regulate the sound. Additionally, the SR300E is fitted with cosmo black hardware, including an Accu-cast B120 bridge, as well as a set of standard die-cast tuners on the headstock.

PowerSpan Dual Coil Pickups
  • Developed by Ibanez, the exposed pole pieces of the PDC pickups produce a stronger signal, and increase the response of the higher frequencies without sacrificing low end. The result is a tone rich in harmonic detail and dynamic expression
Custom 3-Band EQ with 3-Way Power Tap Switch
  • The 3-band EQ works in conjunction with a coil tap switch for maximum control over a wide variety of professional bass tones. Tap Mode (single coil) creates a punchy, dynamic sound with superior articulation. Series Mode (humbucking) delivers a full, warm tone, and Power Tap Mode provides the best of both worlds—combining the clarity of the single coil with the fat bottom end of the humbucker
Accu-Cast B120 Bridge
  • The B120's extra-wide string slots can accommodate even the heaviest of gauges. Walls and channels of the new bridge plate effectively "trap" the saddles, ensuring perfect directional uniformity

    Ibanez SR300E reviews

SR Standard Series - SR300E - Electric Bass (Metallic Gray) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Bass The Ibanez SR 300E is an awesome bass guitar. The quality and sound of this guitar is great for the price. The SR 300 E gives you great flexibility of playing the sound you looking for with the tone, balance, and equalizer controls. B&H had this guitar for way lower than any other online retailer along with free gig bag. B&H is my number one choice for all my electronic and optical needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Well Made and Versatile At the time I purchased this bass it was on sale at the price of $199 for the Champagne Gold finish. Although I was not familiar with this specific model line of Ibanez basses, for the price it seemed worth a try. I had played other more expensive Ibanez basses and found them to be made with quality woods and parts. They played well too. When it arrived I was amazed at the quality of this bass. I had thought I might be getting less for the lower price. Even if it had been purchased at the full MSRP of the instrument, I would not have felt slighted. The build quality is excellent. After setting it up with a new set of DR strings it plays extremely well. The tuners and hardware are high quality. The tones I have been able to get out of it with the onboard active electronics alone is pretty staggering for a single instrument - without using any outboard effects. It seems like a bought 7 basses for the price of one. I've been playing it through a DI interface and Apple's Mainstage software for effects and the possibilities seem endless. Truly a surprise for such an inexpensive instrument. Well worth a try. Great for experienced players or beginners.
