Marshall Electronics PTZ Camera Controller Reviews

Bad buttons

I found it difficult to operate because the soft jelly buttons often don't register when pressed. This becomes a serious issue when changing camera control because if the camera button isn't fully pressed, it interprets it as preset change causing the live camera to abruptly jump to a different preset.

Poorly designed buttons make it virtually unusable.

I've been using the VS-PTC-200 for over a year now and the buttons have very poor response. You often have to push the camera select button multiple times to activate. If you aren't able to activate it within a couple seconds, the device instead interprets your selection as an angle call selection and your camera will PTZ to that saved call selection. If that camera is live, well you just put a swish pan, snap zoom, etc. on the air. Cannot recommend.

What connectors are on this device? Is it a male 8-pin Mini DIN?
Asked by: Dan
Yes. It is a male 8-pin Mini DIN and supports Rs-232. Note that this cable is incompatible with the recommended Marshall Electronics CV620-CABLE-07 8-Pin RS-232 to RJ-45 Adapter Cable. The 8-pin Mini DIN connectors on this controller and the adapter are both male. The adapter cable is recommended for the Marshall Electronics CV605 Compact 3G-SDI/IP PTZ Camera.

Is the Marshall Electronics VS-PTC-200 controller compatible witht he European PAL system? We want to use it with BOSCH DOMO conference cameras
Asked by: Albert
This joystick does not accept a Video Signal, which means it can work with PAL or NTSC System. What is important is the connection and protocols of the camera for control. This will work with cameras that have RS-232 and RS-422 Communication Interfaces, and that support VISCA and PELCO Protocols.
