Audio-Technica ATW-T1006 Overview

The Audio-Technica ATW-T1006 is a tabletop transmitter equipped with a cardioid boundary mic and compatible with System 10 and System 10 PRO receivers. The cardioid polar pattern focuses audio capture in front of the mic and rejects much of the off-axis ambient noise, great for picking up one speaker or allowing two panelists sitting next to each other to share a single mic.

Quick to set up and tear down, the ATW-T1006 offers a smart solution for meeting situations where wired mics are impractical and users demand flexibility with high performance. Syncing the transmitter to a receiver is as simple as pressing the Pairing switch on both components.

The ATW-T1006 can be used in conference spaces, corporate facilities, educational settings, and other small to mid-size venues for panel discussions, speeches, boardroom meetings, school lectures, and more. The unit's low profile is ideal for minimum-visibility applications such as video-conferencing.

The built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 9 hours of use on a full charge. It is easily recharged with the included USB charging cable and AC adapter, which can also power the unit indefinitely while in use.

For meetings where several wireless mics are required, up to 10 mics can operate simultaneously in the same room with the ATW-RU13 System 10 PRO receiver and 8 with the ATW-R1100 System 10 receiver.

User-Friendly Features for Meetings and Conferences
  • The touch-sensitive user switch can toggle between talk and mute modes, or function as a press-to-talk or press-to-mute button.
  • Two red/green LEDs—one visible from the front of the unit, the other from the rear—indicate toggle/talk/mute mode, battery level, and charging status.
  • Three levels of input gain (-6, 0, and +6 dB) can be selected with a switch on the bottom of the unit, allowing you to adjust the input level to accommodate panelists with different speaking volumes.
  • The low-cut filter switch reduces air conditioning rumbles and other unwanted low-end noise.
  • LED underneath unit displays ID number to indicate which transmitter is paired with a given transmitter.

Audio-Technica ATW-T1006 Reviews

An Good Alternative to the TV Bands!

Full Disclosure - I was given this product for testing and review. First of all, I'm a AV systems designer, installer and company owner. I saw the new system two years ago at Denver AVX and expressed my doubts about it's capabilities to the company rep. Turns out he was the VP of Engineering for AT! He sent me a test unit and I sent him back some real world test data. First of all, I was sure that this would have problems and so I set it up to fail. For my first test, I did not remotely mount the RX units. Also I parked it in a sound booth with an active consumer grade WiFi router/access point. I ran two channels for the entire service multiple times, at a range of 60-80 ft. with a clear line of sight and the RF was rock solid. No dropouts, no problems. I was, quite frankly, amazed. I've lived with this unit now for two years, used it for outdoor events, vacation Bible school at my church, two Christmas productions for drama and backup mics and it has never had an issue. I only have a couple minor complaints. The handheld mic does have some handling noise, so that could be improved and once when I blew a circuit breaker at an outdoor event (hey, it happens) I had to re-sync the handheld to the transmitter before the system would work again. I definitely recommend using rechargeable AA's since they use batteries faster than analog systems. However, this is to be expected considering the amount of active RF management built into these units and the fact that they are constantly encoding and sending dual streams of digital audio. In my book, this system is an excellent alternative for the TV bands! Recommended.

Yes , we are your poster children

just got a 1322 system 10 pro just in time for last Fridays gig , setup is super easy and works just like the system 10 stomp boxes my band uses for guitar bass mandolin and banjo and does not bother the older Freeway system we already have . (ya we are your poster children) opened the box when I got to the venue and plugged everything in , put batteries in the in the mic's selected two unused system id numbers and we were ready for sound check . we did wind up backing off the gain inside the mic's because they were a little hot to begin with and we couldn't get any head room on the board . so during our first set break we opened up the mic's and turned them down with the provided plastic screwdriver (A. T. thought of everything) and proceeded to have a flawless weekend . I highly recommend the system 10 pro 1322 and will soon be upgrading the two freeway mic's (4 years old , nearly 200 dates and still working great) to another one of these .
