    Audio-Technica ATH-E40 reviews

    ATH-E40 E-Series Professional In-Ear Monitor Headphones is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely a great IEM I have this E40 with me for the last three months and I totally in love with it. It's my very first IEM and I'm sure glad to bought this product. The amount of bass in this IEM is just on the right spot for my ears (I'm not that much of a bass-head). The high frequency is rather smooth. Maybe some say it's to bulky and stuff, but for me it's not as bulky as they say. But the drawback is the cable feels a bit thin and feels like you might snap it accidentally if you're not careful enough. I personally would prefer just a tiny bit thicker cable. But overall, the body construction of this IEM is great, the sound is lovely, the price? Totally worth it !! If you're thinking to upgrade your IEM from entry level to a better stage, you should try and consider to get one of this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit, great sound! I play keyboards and I needed in-ear monitor, whether it's wireless or wired. Since I don't move on stage too much, I decided to use the wired option and needed good in-ear buds. I found them! Fit well -- can be adjusted to fit perfectly due to their design. Hi-fi sound too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them! I am a drummer in a band and wear these at least 3 time a week. I have never had any issues with them at all. Good bass without losing the vocals from the mix. I use the Comply T-500 tips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not what I expected! These in-ear headphones were my first from Audio-Technica's lineup. The sound quality on these headphones are superb and can definitely handle bass with quality and clarity. Out of the box these headphones do not provide a passive bass boost but that should not deter any user from purchasing these headphones. They can handle bass without the audio/vocals being distorted. Compared to my previous Sennheiser In-Ear headphones, these are huge, might it be the drivers or the housing of the drivers, nonetheless these headphones are comfortable and I have worn them for hours without discomfort. One gripe I do have however is that the earmolds are not by option nor are they removable which is a nuisance. Every time I take off my headphones I have to fiddle or "reshape" the earmolds which is annoying. I have tried looking for aftermarket solutions since these headphones do come with A2DC (the drivers are detachable from the cables). It would've been a nice addition if they included different types of cables, otherwise the A2DC design is redundant as by the time of writing this review I cannot find any cables.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! These are like the m50x's but just in ear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice fit and sound, questionable building materials. Of course AT is always building nice quality headphones and microphones, I've got the chance to prove that. I'm an audio engineer and have been using AT products for more than 5 years. The AT 40-50 is one of the best options while recording in studio and owning a pair of ATH m50x has been great for my tracking and mixing. I was really excited when I ordered the ATH-E40 for my live and studio acts because, as a drummer I need to feel free and have exceptional isolation when playing, the ATH-E40 have that and are a great buy, the only problem I could see was the materials they used to build them. Previously I used shure se-215 and the coil was super resistant and good looking, not like the one in E40's, it feels like a regular pair of earphones. The frequency level and sound pressure level is good, nothing special, but great to work with. Hope they last long time with me.
