Boost Wi-Fi Coverage
The TP-LINK AC1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender connects to your router wirelessly, strengthening and expanding its signal into areas it can't reach on its own. The device also reduces signal interference to ensure reliable Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home or office.
Super-Fast Speed
TP-LINK's RE450 comes with next generation 802.11AC Wi-Fi technology, it's 3 times faster than the standard 802.11n speeds. The RE450 delivers fast speeds of dual band Wi-Fi up to 1750 Mbps, providing reliable connections for bandwidth-intensive tasks like HD/4K streaming, lag free gaming, large file downloads.
Gigabit Wired Speed
A gigabit Ethernet port turns the extender into a wireless bridge, letting you connect a wired device like a Blu-ray player, gaming console, DVR, or smart TV to your Wi-Fi network.
Easy Installation
The extender RE450 works with any standard wireless router. Instantly connect the RE450 to a router by pressing the extender's RE button followed by the router's WPS button (if available). Once connected with an existing router, just take RE450 to an ideal place.
Quick Positioning
The Intelligent signal light can help to find the best location to place the extender.
High Performance External Antennas
Three external dual band antennas boost your wireless coverage and reliability, helping your devices stay connected virtually anywhere your network reaches.
High Speed Mode
High Speed mode maximizes overall performance by combining the bandwidth of both the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz channels to create a lightning-fast connection with one band sending data and the other receiving it.

I replaced an old wifi extender that was flacking out periodically with the TP-Link RE450. I found it very easy to set up and it is working better than the old wifi extender I had been using.

question

Can multiple range extenders be connected on the same network? IF so do they both need to receive signal from the main router or could one extender pull from the other extender, i.e. the second extender might be out of range from the main router but not from the first extender?
Asked by: Robert B.
Powerline extenders are sometimes great (do not require Ethernet or coaxial cable) but usually only work if on the same electrical circuit as the router (transformers, etc. between the devices block the data flow carried). Look into the newer Mesh systems though, they may solve your problem.

can i run an ethernet cable from my router downstairs to this unit upstairs? Will it work like that?

Yes. You can set up the TP-Link RE450 Wi-Fi Extender in Access Point Mode, and by connecting it to your existing router via Ethernet, enjoy AC1750 Wi-Fi connectivity where you need it.

Can this unit effectively cover an area of 1300 square feet with about 100 people using it?

The area of coverage will be dependent on many factors. According to the manufacturer they recommend not more than 16 connections.
