    TP-Link RE450 reviews

    RE450 1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solved my problem The providers router is located just inside of the font wall of the home. Signal was very weak or non existsnt at the the rear of the home. The router is located on the middle floor of three levels. I added this device to the same floor at the rear of home and I now have complete coverage. Installation was simple, but the range extender would not connect to my 5k network. After a few minutes on the phone with tech support, the issue was resolved. The issue was related to the channel selection of the 5k network in my router. I recommend this product and tech support was very good when I needed it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from V1 will Not Stay Connected First of all, we are 'tech-savy' so it's not us. We set up the extender exactly as instructed on numerous occasions since we purchased it and it connects fine, however, unexpectedly, over the next day or so, it suddenly drops its connection, will not re-connect and we have to go through the whole setup again. After several attempts, we threw the thing in a drawer ($89.00 down the tubes) and forgot about it. Now we just tried it again with the same results, hence this review. Don't waste your money on this. We are back to using our $15.00 Edimax Range Extender we purchased 5 years ago (still works perfectly), while the TP-Link is now an $89.00 'paper-weight'.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lots of channel interference, not reliable It took about four to five minutes to get the logon and password to work. It constantly rejects the wifi password if you reboot. Then it took another five minutes to actually work. That is not even the bad part. The killer is that you can not select the channels manually so you will get interference from your primary wifi transmitter colliding with this units broadcast ...creating significant delays. Even when I brought the repeater within two feet of my computer I am getting delays due to channel interference. Not worth the money without manual channel selection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tp-Link RE 450 1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender The extender works like a charm. I was having problems with our Whole-Home Genie handling On Demand and Rewinds of a currently running program on DirecTV. The problem was dead spots. There aren't any dead spots anymore! Everything works terrific, and that includes 2 iPhones, an iPad, 2 computers, 2 Wi-Fi printers, and DirecTV's Whole-Home Genie. Took about 5 minute to 10 minutes to get the range extender up and running without a hitch!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wi-Fi Range Extender I needed to extend my wi-fi range into an outbuilding/shop into the backyard when the DSL box was replaced. I purchased this unit because I hoped that it would be simple. For not being very computer savvy I managed to get it to work. It took no less than three tries and a couple searches on the interned to get it to finial function completely. Now I'm just afraid to unplug it for the fear of me having to redo it. For functioning it solved my issue of out of range. The signal is still weak in the shop but at least I have one now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from big but very effective it's quite a large for a wall plug in unit but it's not unnattractive, most importantly super easy plug in and go set up and does a great job at boosting the signal in dead zones around the house.
